Well worth the visit. Drive up in the morning or late afternoon. We stayed the night in the village in a house with a boulder in it, excellent price. Watch the sunset from a boulder. Then in the morning walk up to the castle before it gets to hot & touresty. Loved our time there. People very friendly.

This is a great area to stay in if you want to experience great nightlife - lots of cafes and bar and small restaurants with a multitude of different countries' cuisines... Always buzzing, and some great views of Lisbon too!

Located between Rossio and Praça do Comercio, this section is a shopper's paradise with several pedestrian streets. Location within walking distance of many of the must-see in Lisbon center. Public transports, including the famous tram 28 at the door.
Lisbon is a beautiful city with a unique charm. Baixa is its the most central part. It was completely destroyed after the earthquake in the eighteenth century. Rebuilt by the Marquis of Pombal . The district has large classical avenues flanked by houses covered in tiles, in typical Lisbon style. There are many shops and restaurants in Baixa. This neighbourhood houses the capital’s most emblematic squares and streets. Nice area for a walk. Every tourist should visit it.

Wonderful sights delight walkers at every turn in this culturally rich and charming part of Lisbon, which through its architecture reminds visitors of its Visigothic roots, Arabic influence and fishing port heritage.
We were so impressed Alfama that we went back! The castle is lovely and has wonderful views of the city and flea market on Saturday is great fun, tram E28 is a good way to travel there and a visit to a bar or cafe is a must; with friendly people and inexpensive attractions it's well worth a visit.

This is the fashionable shopping district in Lisbon.
We were visiting Lisbon for 5 days and rented a beautiful apartment here just round the corner from Rua Garrett. Chiado is a great shopping area as it has many quality shops and lots of lovely restaurants.

You will be pleasantly surprised at just how modern, clean and attractive this new city is. Originally built in 1998 for the Worlds Fair, it has grown into an extremely well designed example of urban development. Centrally located is the Train station, Gare de Oriente as well as the Vasco de Gama Shopping Center. Many sites and attractions, waterfront restaurants, Oceanarium, Science Museum, Casino, Ballet, Arena for concerts, beautiful architecture etc. etc. I always enjoy the gondola ride that takes you from the Myriad Hotel tower to just south of the Oceanarium, over 1k ride with lovely views of the park and the river. If you want to take a nice walk, you can do a 4k walk along the river with very nice photo ops of the bridge and surrounding sites.
