The farmers' market is only a short walk from the legendary "Romai-part", which is one of the most popular outdoor places in Budapest alongside the Danube river. The market opened in April 2017 with a vision of bringing Hungarian farm-grown products and handcrafted items to the local community. In addition to the fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits, you will also find variety of jams, sausages, meat, eggs, juices, home-made bread and cheese along with many other local products. All of this is offered in the idyllic 3rd district, which can be reached from several directions and by different means of transport, even by boat from the centre.

Szimpla Farmers' Market: market, brunch and community place. The market has been organized every Sunday in Szimpla since 2012. Every week we have approximately 1500-2000 local and international visitors and 30-40 farmers, mainly from the proximity of Budapest, offering their own produces. Our farmers must meet very strict requirements, our staff regularly checks how the products are made at the farms. Our vendors offer cheese, sausage, fruits, vegetables, spreads, honey, chutneys, juices, organic and non-organic, yet small farm produced delicacies in a great variety. On our first floor we offer an all you can eat brunch from the produces of the market. We have live music, and every week a different NGO cooks and raises money for charity, where you can taste what they have cooked for donations.
We enjoyed a Sunday visit as this is the only day this cute little market is open till 2:00PM. Lots of interesting products such as meats, cheeses, bakery items, homemade sauces and jams plus local beverages, too. Just a bit east of the Jewish district. Worth experiencing if you're here.

Budapest's largest and most expansive indoor market, built in the neo-Gothic style, offers a variety of food stalls, from fresh vegetables, fowl and meat to wine and liquor shops.
Built in 1897 the market offers a large variety of produce, meats, pastries, candies, spices, spirits, eateries, and souvenirs within all the floors. It is the largest and oldest indoor market in Budapest, Hungary and is located at the end of the famous pedestrian shopping street on the Pest side of the Liberty bridge.

We had a great time shopping at all the market stalls. Yes there where a lot of the same but there where still so many different choices it didn't matter. We did it on a rainy day and it was perfect !

I was advised to visit this market by the reception at Utto Suites. I had been disappointed by the Market in Fovam Sq. Very busy and very much geared for the tourist. This market is more sedate with a greater choice of eating places. On top of that there is plenty of seating - not the case at the Great Market. I ate pea soup with blue cheese sausage and bread 1400HuF. For Goulash Soup, Sour cream, paprika paste and bread I paid just over 2550HuF at the Great Market

The atmosphere shopping in a Market like Rakoczi ter, Market Hall, is delightful. There has been a change of culture to a degree in Budapest, to Market shopping, but thank-fully, there support base, is maintained by the locals, that reside in and around, the choice of Market Halls, that we in Budapest are "spoilt" to have. It's a magnificently restored Market Hall, and to look up, in the Summer months, and see, the widow configurations and design, that ventilate this Market Hall, is quite masterful. It' location is a travelers delight, the metro and tram, at it's front door, and the ter, is pleasurable, to sit and rest, after your Market Hall experience. We reside in this beautiful historic magnificent City of Budapest, Hungary and the Market Halls, we spread ourselves around, as they are a true joy and delight as a shopping experience.
