This historical market is located across the Central Market Tram Station on Muhammad V Boulevard. It is a great place to have lunch, watch people and shop for flowers and food. You can find vegetable sellers, tavern owners, herb dealers, fish mongers, florists, spice traders and handicraft vendors here. It is one of the oldest markets of the Ville Nouvelle of Casablanca. It was conceived by Pierre Bousquet in 1917. The building was destroyed after the resistance fighter Muhammad Zarqtuni bombed it in 1953 after the Sultan was exiled by the French. It was rebuilt in Neo-Mauresque style. It has arches, large gateways and a beautiful central cupola under which stands the cross-shaped fresh fish market. Green and white facade is very eye catching. Overall a great place to visit.
