The first thing you need to know about Carmel: Clint Eastwood used to be the mayor, so don’t come here if you’re a hooligan. But if you’re after a romantic getaway to a seaside, art-filled village, Carmel might be perfect for you. You can even bring your dog—Carmel’s hotels, restaurants and galleries are remarkably Fido-friendly.

Tudor Pinot Noirs from the Santa Lucia Highlands and Anderson Valley are available for tasting inside the Court of the Fountains at the Wine Bar and in the restaurant by the glass, flight and bottle. All the Tudor Pinot Noirs scored 90 points and higher with Wine Spectator Magazine. The tasting includes three pinot noirs and a riesling tasting flight.
This location is now vacant and CLOSED. I visited the charming courtyard of the fountains and confirm this tasting room is now empty. Look up other locations.

Located just a block off of Ocean Avenue at San Carlos & 7th, our Carmel Tasting Room is a warm and inviting haven to taste an array of Scheid Vineyards wines.
We throughly enjoyed our wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards Carmel tasting room. The wines were delicious and complex, the service friendly and non-pressuring. We ended up buying 2 bottles.

Wrath is open for tastings and is allowed indoor service for a limited number of guests. We also have 8 outdoor seats available. Our seats wrap around a fire pit so they are cozy and warm. We are open daily from 11-5pm. Wrath produces site-driven Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc from our estate vineyard and respected properties in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Our production is small, our distribution is limited and our wines reveal attitude, passion, and an inherent respect for what a vineyard can give.
First, no tasting room can be much fun if the wine is bad. Here, the wine is good to spectacular. Even the "wine in a can" is good! The patio is warmed by a firepit - but beware. That Monterey combination of fog and wind will drive you indoors on some days. That's OK because their bar inside is cozy and friendly even with social distancing.

De Tierra creates delicious, award-winning, and sustainably harvested wines from our solar-powered vineyard to share the unique terroir of Monterey County. Our tasting room features a large selection of wines now with Al Fresco wine tasting! We look forward to seeing you soon!
I am a resident of Carmel and a frequent visitor to the local tasting rooms. De Tierra is by far my favorite in town. Most importantly, they have wonderful wines. I am not a huge white wine fan, but I found their whites to be most enjoyable. All of their reds are delicious! The tasting room itself is a destination. Large with plenty of seating and rustic decor. The tasting room is a few blocks off of Ocean Avenue and you tend to run into more of the locals. They are under new management and Alix and Dan are expanding on a great foundation and creating a truly authentic old Carmel experience. I could spend hours in their space and highly recommend a visit.
