Scenic drive that winds through the Crystal River Valley, over McClure Pass to Crawford, Crested Butte, Kebler Pass and back to Carbondale.
We traveled the Byway from Carbondale to Delta, and loved the mountains, waterfalls, rivers, animals (we saw a black bear), coke ovens and quaint towns.

Award Winning Public 18 Hole Golf Course: Voted a local's choice for best golf course 2020 and named one of the 2019 top three public golf courses in Colorado, Golfer's Choice, by Golf Advisor, the course at River Valley Ranch will not disappoint. Full services including driving range (automatic ball dispensing machine), current year Taylor Made club rentals (lefties too), PGA professional instruction and a full restaurant and bar (The Homestead Bar & Grill). Designed by hall of famer Jay Morrish, this championship course sits in the Crystal River Valley at the base of Mt. Sopris at 6181 ft above sea level (ball go far!). The Crystal River snakes through the course, fronting four unique holes of play. Views of the expansive Roaring Fork Mountain Valley surround you, dominated by 13,000 ft monolith, Mt. Sopris. Fast greens, elevation changes, river carries are just a few of the features of this stunning property. A short drive from Aspen, brings you to a low key, welcoming course.
Great, fun mountain course with water and lots of canyons to cross. Medium challenging and very cost effective ($49 green fees for twilight, beginning at 3pm). Lots of elevation changes and bunkers, some of which are very deep and therefore very challenging.

This 7,400-yard Jack Nicklaus/Jack Nicklaus II golf course offers eight riverfront holes, where the 18th green is placed strategically among the flowing waters of the Roaring Fork River.
Great gated golf community in the Roaring Fork Valley. All ages with young children to retirees. You can own a home and NOT be a golfer or pay for a golf membership. We are "social members" and love the community of AG. Great employees and management.

My friend and I did this trail as part of the Mount Sopris Trail. This trail was lovely and easy, listed as 7.8 miles out and back. It is well marked. When we went, there were a few people, the perfect amount really. (We went on to summit the first peak of Sopris, felt amazing, and then tragically got off the trail and came down the wrong way and had to have emergency services get us down, but that is the story of another trail.)
