From flat-topped Table Mountain down to the blue waters of Table Bay, Cape Town is simply stunning, but the city doesn't thrive by its looks alone. Proudly multicultural, its flourishing arts, dining, and nightlife scenes are proof of this modern metropolis' creativity and innovative spirit.

Drifter is an award-winning brewery based in the hustle and bustle of the Woodstock neighbourhood in Cape Town. When you walk into Drifter, it feels like you've stepped onto a ship setting sail for beer paradise. By day, the brewery is a beer manufacturing warehouse - by night the lights dim and the tasting room opens up with views of Table Mountain from the bar. The space is also available to hire for small events and functions.

The Home of Great South African Beer - Since 1820. Visit us, tour the brewery and taste our award-winning beers. Nestled at the foot of Devil's Peak and neighbour to the historic rugby & cricket grounds, is the oldest operating brewery in South Africa and the home of great South African beer - Newlands Brewery. Lovers of delicious, natural refreshment are invited to experience a taste of brewing history, followed by a look into modern-day brewing methods, by joining a fully guided tour of Newlands Brewery. I booked the visit for my husband and we both really enjoyed the experience. Very well organised throughout , from booking , being issued with a car parking pass , to the tour and beer tasting and of course the pub ! Would definitely recommend.

An awesome craft brewery located in the Hout Bay Harbour district. Come in and have a beer, tour our brewery, and maybe get lucky and watch our brewmaster in action! We have 4 beers on tap - all made using local Hout Bay spring water: a Weiss, a Blonde Ale, a Pilsener and a Stout.
Friendly owner and staff. Great beer and great people. Great atmosphere with the brew house being open for all to see. On our first visit, the owner even took us on a tour through the brewery. I make it a point to pop in there whenever I am in the area.

Service: Too notch, we went during happy hour. Beer: I’ve had their bone crusher beer, very easy drinking. Not too hoppy. Today I had their new Grapefruit IPA- I would buy a case of this if I could! Well balanced with citrus and hops, can be a everyday summer drinking beer with a bit more ooomph, than a radler! Cider: tried their berry cider...if your are into cider, this is actually so crisp without being too sweet. Delicious over ice or just as is. Food: their food was nicely priced...I only went for happy hour but their menu was diverse but simple. Ambiance: outdoor patio seating area. Can get windy but you glasses will still stay on the table. Inside, has a lovely large open area with tables surrounding the bar area. Nice stop for a pint or two, or three.

We had the best time with Jeremy (Tap Room Manager). He is very knowledgeable about the beer and entire brewing process. Super cool place excellent beer. I recommend the following beers Born Slippy, Happy Pils, Hazy Daze, and Acid Queen. After the tasting we went upstairs for dinner. Great food and service. I highly recommend.
