Cape Town glistens at the southern toe of the African continent. Tourist brochure-views at Blaauwberg Beach and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens are within easy driving distance of "The Mother City." The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve provides sweeping sea vistas, hiking trails and wildlife encounters. On a more somber note, travelers can visit Robben Island, the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 27 years.

Had a wine and snacks with friends at the winery. Very good setting and the wine is excellent. Try the Sauvignon blanc or Shiraz.

Glen Carlou's custom-designed cellar features an open-plan inner arena where visitors have the opportunity to gain insight into the vintner's art. To delight the eye, our attractive, wood-beamed tasting room offers panoramic views of the Paarl Valley and the Drakenstein Mountains in the distance. To reward the palate, a variety of memorable wines can be savoured. Visit us soon!
I highly recommend Glen Carlou as part of a wine-tasting tour. The setting is spectacular, nestled in a valley and surrounded by mountains and a lake. There is a great contemporary art gallery that you can wander through, (all works are for sale and not stupidly priced at all). after your tasting, take the time to sit on their beautiful balcony with a bite and more wine. I especially loved their Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot wines. The grounds are lovely too. Take your time here, it’s good for your palate and your soul. One of my two favorite wineries.

The only city winery in Cape Town, not only an experimental wine cellar where the city vineyards are made into wine, Signal Hill winery is as well a wine bar and a wine shop.

Chabivin's seeds was planted in 2007 through a meeting with Hendrik Snyman, a passionate winemaker and French Champagne House owners, Brigitte Charbaut-Abiven and Jean-Pierre Abiven. Chabivin has a wonderful selection of locally produced MCC's as well as French Champagne. We have a tasting room on the farm as well as a restaurant that caters the most delicious cuisines. Regular events are hosted on the farm.

The day we went to Swarland was exceptionally hot, which was a shame as it would have been great to sit outside for our wine tasting. However, we tasted some very good wines and had a really good, value for money, cheese board to go with it. Great, friendly people at the winery.
