A scenic mountain lake situated alongside the city of Geneva, it empties into the Rhone River.
One of the gems of Geneva is its Lake which is a year-round hotspot for outdoor activities and nice restaurants. The northern shore covers picturesque villages terraced vineyards and medieval castles. It is easy to explore lakeside landmarks such as the medieval bastion of Chillon Castle (Château de Chillon). Soaking up the scenery on a Lake Geneva cruise was a marvel. Time permitting visitors can enjoy a ride by the GoldenPass panoramic train into the Swiss Alps, take a Geneva sightseeing tour, or hop over the French border to explore Annecy, Chamonix, or Mont Blanc.

On a visit to the garden this week I saw a lot of spring flowers. There were crocus, aconites and hellebores in flower and a number of early flowering shrubs with a lovely perfume such as shrubby honeysuckle. There was frogspawn in the pond and you can see the goats in their enclosure. There is also a playground for small children. The only thing it lacks is a cafe for tea and cakes! For that you need to walk to central Meyrin. Daphne

this park has been created by Pierre Challandes who started to rescue birds in the 80's. As people started to bring lost or wounded animals the park grew up until it moved to its actual residency. Lots of animals have been healed and put back to nature, only the ones who can't go back to the wild stay there. Lots of them also come from zoos and circus who had to get rid of them. With times, Pierre Challandes had all sort of animals from the tiniest up to black panther, snow leopard and cougars, It is very pleasant to visit but do not expect a Zoo per se. Anyone can volonteer and come to help for one day or more. So more than just a visit it's really a very special place run by whole hearted people.

My husband and I spent a week in Geneva, Switzerland to celebrate his birthday. As part of the 24 hours Hop on Hop Off tour, there is a Mini Train Ride to the Old Town Geneva, which starts at Place de Rhone. It is exactly where the Hop On Hop Off Bus stops so there is no problem finding it. It goes around Old Town Geneva for about an hour and it passes thru Parc Des Bastions where people are relaxing, taking a stroll or playing chess with Giant Chess Boards. It is also in Parc Des Bastions that you can find the Botanical Garden. We also saw the Reformation Wall, there. I would recommend spending time there as one of Geneva's tourist attractions.

A lovely park & a great way to spend an afternoon during the summer. My interest was the famous tennis Club, where I visited back in 1984. Still there but cannot enter. There is a Hotel/restaurant in the Park too. To get back to the town, walk further up & take the Bavette- fantastic1
