I love this cafe! Amazing books and merchandise to paruse. It has the feel of an old English book shop. So comfortable and cozy!

I wandered into Sugar Pine expecting to find some lovely fabrics. But I was amazed at the size of the store, and the extensive selection of fabrics, all beautifully arranged, with lots of precuts, too. Many gorgeous quilts are also displayed, with patterns or kits available for most. Any other Covid-quilting-newbies like me? You need to know about this place! It’s worth a trip to Canmore.

Mooseprint Books and Gifts, located in the mountain resort town of Banff, Canada, is a locally-owned independent bookstore designed with book aficionados in mind. Bright, airy, and functional, the space is filled with handmade solid oak bookshelves on Rundlestone bases, while comfortable leather chairs along the front window are back lit by natural light. The shelves are filled with a thoughtful selection of books including regional guidebooks, local history books, cookbooks, coffeetable books, adventure stories, and Canadian fiction bestsellers. In addition to books, Mooseprint offers a range of gifts and souvenirs unique to Banff, including custom-designed jigsaw puzzles, aluminum photographic prints, globes, and picnic baskets.

The local Outdoor Store in Lake Louise Featuring a great rental Program:Summer> bikes, hiking gear, hiking poles, fishing (spin and fly) and climbing.Winter> Excellent ski and snowboard gear, nordic skiing (cross country and skate), skates, snowshoes and touring gear (ski and snowbaord).
We rented a pair of skis from here and the service was excellent. Excellent types of skis for rent and they also have some great ski gear and we bought a pair of boots for our son here who by the way has shoe size 13. Hard to find a fit for that size. The staff was knowledgable and very patient and kind.

We came to walk the Maligne Canyon on a day in early October with snow drifting down. There was a handwritten sign on the door saying "Closed today, open tomorrow". We peeked in through the windows and one manwas the owner, having a cup of coffee in the restaurant. He opened the gift shop and restaurant for us, and we not only found lovely jewelry (lots of amber and other unusual pieces) and books and of course calendars, but lots of original art. Then we discovered that this is really 3 businesses in one - a restaurant decorated in original First Nations art and sculpture, a gift shop and an art gallery with exquisite pieces carved in jade and other stones. I will never forget this experience with the gracious owner, the exquisite artwork, and the utter kindness that was shown to us on this cold snowy day.
