April 1, 2022 Vergie Nakamoto

From Alberta’s southwestern border north into British Columbia, the Canadian Rockies are a network of provincial and national parks that collectively make up a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Banff and Jasper national parks are connected by the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic drives in the world. The towns of Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper are hubs for adventures including hiking, horseback riding, rafting and wildlife viewing. Accommodation ranges from hotels to mountain lodges.

Prairie View Trail

Sept.9/18 a group of three of us did this hike in 3 hours with a 20 min stop at the top. 360 degree views at the top of mountain ranges and barrier lake on one side and prairies on the other. This hike is suitable for all ages - we passed people ranging from 5-70 year old, and lots of friendly pups! The trail is wide the whole way except the last 30 metres. Fantastic hike!

Great hike! Easy access and well marked. I came here after work to get some forest time and enjoy the spring weather that finally arrived. I was the only one on the trail, relaxing and very enjoyable. Not a far drive from the city and well worth the drive.

We did not know that this trail would lead us to seeing big horn mountain sheep to seeing the old boss man him self . He is the biggest grizzly bear we seen and Banffs icon . The amazing views and the majestic mountains covered in snow here and there and the green emerald waters dancing in the sun with the ice unthawing on them . Can we say breath taking
