This modern new building replaces the old Halifax Memorial Library on Spring Garden Road – it is a large building with open glass walls with great views of the city, along with a rooftop terrace with some spectacular paroramic vistas of the Halifax waterfront. Check out the modern art design of an entire wall devoted to cards from the library card catalogue of another era … some of us still remember doing library searches that way! Very impressive architecture, beautiful building!

Staff are super helpful. I go with my 3year old grandson,he loves everything, the computers ,books, toys, story times even the child height water fountains and toilets lol. I’ve never found parking to be a problem underground, it’s free for 2 hours. Major kudos from me.

We stopped by the visitor center on our RV stay in Peachland and were so delighted by the overwhelming kindness of Susan. She gave us a lot of information about little Peachland, the bats in the attic and helped us with planning our further travel itinerary towards Hope, so we could take a much more scenic route than initially planned. Seldom have we experienced such a warm and passionate service! Definitely need to go there again, if we happen to be in Okanagan valley again one day. The little art gallery in the rear of the building is also worth a visit!

I use the library often, when you want information there is always someone there to help you and this with a smile. Smiles are hard to come by so it's pleasant to have such nice people at the Bibliotheque Paul-Mercier

The weather was wet and cloud cover low so we visited the information centre for suggestions of things to do in the drizzly rain. The staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and keen to help the visitors. We left armed with a trail map marked with the recommended hikes and some bear spray in case our walks in the woods stumbled across a bear - we didn’t although did see bears by the roadside from our car. The parks staff have all the latest information on areas closed due to animal activity so a good place to start any trip to Jasper.

This library might be one of the best in the Toronto Public Library system. It holds awesome events, including the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF), is the location of the Arthur Conan Doyle special collections (a must see for Sherlock Holmes fans), has hard working staff, and is visually stunning. Plus several film shoots and weddings have happened here!

The majestic Legislature is one of the most iconic buildings in Edmonton and a must see when you are in the city! Built in 1912, in the Beaux Arts style, the Legislature is the seat of the government in the province. The historic building is open 362 days a year. Friendly and knowledgeable Heritage Interpreters are always pleased to take you on a tour and introduce you to Alberta's legislative process. Just north of the Legislature, you will find the Legislative Assembly Visitor Centre. The centre is home to the Borealis Gallery, Pehonan Theatre, Agora Interpretive Centre and Capital Gifts shop. The Legislature site is a hub of activity throughout the year, the grounds being some of the most beautiful and picturesque in the area.

Nice little kids area with lots of books (obviously!), stuffed animals, and a room with toys :) dinosaurs, big blocks, puppets, etc. Many days they offer kids story time or singing time, and BC residents can check out books with their library card/or ID. Visitors from out of province can check out books for a 10$ fee. This was great for us, as we are staying 10 days and we loved checking out lots of books for the kids to read in our place. Great little nature walk right beside and the little Whistler museum. Great spot to check out with young kids, and even better on a rainy day!
