Home to two of America's most prestigious universities, Cambridge exudes a certain intellectual quirkiness. A mix of historical haunts, student hang-outs, alternative art and culture venues, vintage clothing shops, bookstores and ethnic restaurants, the city is, well, really cool. Although it is located just across the Charles River from Boston, Cambridge has a distinct vibe that is noticeable immediately. Start at Harvard Square, a hub of activity and mishmash of trendy stores, outdoor cafes and colorful local characters. Pick up a walking tour map at the visitors information booth in the center of the Square. The route will take you past many important landmarks including the Mount Auburn Cemetery, Tory Row and the Longfellow National Historic Site. Harvard University offers student-led tours through the illustrious buildings and monuments of its sprawling campus. Art and architecture buffs should meander around the M.I.T campus, which includes outdoor sculptures by masters such as Picasso and 20th-century buildings designed by modern greats like Eero Saarinen and I. M. Pei. Along the way, browse through bookstores, stop to watch street performers and grab a coffee at an outdoor café to take in all this captivating city has to offer.

I went to college in Boston, moved away for a couple of years and came back 20+ years ago. Can you believe in all that time I had NEVER been to Passim?? Cut to a few weeks ago...I went to my first show there and I fell in love with the place. It's so cozy, warm and friendly. The live music is off the chain...such amazing artists are coming through there all the time. The food/drinks are fantastic too. I went back on Halloween night for Peter Mulvey's Lamplighter series featuring Ali McGuirk, Tim Gearan and Thank God For Science. I had a blast. It was the best Halloween I've had in awhile. This is probably my favorite live music venue now. It only took me 20+ years to finally come and experience it.

This is just about perfect for what you want after dinner, while the night is still young. Wines and cocktails are there but are overwhelmed by the mead and beer options. Gluten free folks have 3 beer options and good options at that. Go here and expect what it is designed forEnjoy.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem of a dive bar that offers live music! Just an interesting place to relax and have a drink. Highly recommend it.

Before I came to ImprovBoston, my confidence when it came to performing was diminished. The classes, instructors, and community at ImprovBoston have made me feel at home, especially as a college student who was new to Boston back then. I highly recommend taking a class, seeing a show, or getting involved in the ImprovBoston community. The talent is exceptional. The community is sincere. The theater experience is wonderful. Need a fun date night? Or a good laugh? ImprovBoston is the place to go. I truly love it here and have had some of my biggest laughs watching the resident casts!
