Coyote Ridge Stable

This lovely experience was the delight of our trip. Beginning with the phone call, Sue was so accommodating and ensured we are able to ride with very little notice. Coyote Ridge Stable took precautions to ensure everyone was safe and enjoyed the experience during the uncertain times of 2020. Delightful conversation, informative guide, sweet horses and amazing views. Just as the name says— we had an opportunity to see several coyotes just watching us cruise around. Absolutely worth the $ and would recommend to anyone! Thank you Sue!

Knob Hill Ranch

Reviewed By sarahdE8052HO - Arlington, United States

We visited Knob Hill Ranch for the day and did the Panorama View Trail through Joshua Tree National Park. It was one of the longer trail rides so not recommended for beginners, but it was great for riders who have been on a horse at least a few times before and want to see the park from a different angle. The trail ride took us on about a 3.8 mile loop trail and to the top of one of the mountains in the park so we had amazing panoramic views of the park (hence the trail name) at a higher altitude, without having to hike. We went in late October so the weather was cooler and jackets were necessary. The owner, Natalia, is an experienced rider and trainer and did a great job of explaining everything as we were getting introduced to our horses. She and her team even did a short demonstration of riding commands and how to control the horse for the newer riders. She is very knowledgeable and a great teach. I really enjoyed all of the tips and guidance she gave along the way and I feel like a learned something while enjoying the ride. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to get a different view of the national park and is comfortable with horses. I felt so welcomed and had a wonderful time, that I can't wait to go back!

Nice place, relaxed ride with some very for-real cowboys. Enjoyed the guide's friendly patter and inside tips about the countryside and local hikes. It was really fun to see the horses doing their thing. What stood out to me was that that these folks definitely made me and my first-time-on-a-horse husband feel safe--we opted for helmets even though it was hot out, which made me much more confident when my horse was gingerly picking his steps out on loose rocks and steep hillsides. Would definitely go here again.

During an extended trip across the Western US, we also came across Cottonwood Canyon Ranch. My two kids love horseback riding, so we gave it a try. We had a wonderful time thanks to Georgia and her wranglers, who made sure that Klara (8) and Johanna (13) were safe while making the most of their adventure in the desert. Thanks in particular to our wrangler Jimmy, who was very relaxed yet attentive, and made our ride special. Also: great scenery! Thanks a lot to the whole team!
