Summer season Hagan is open for guided tours in the summer season and has new theme exhibitions with Skredsvig's original work every year. Welcome to the Old Town in Hallingdal. Gamle Nes (Old Nes) is the oldest part of Nesbyen. Nesbyen was the administration centre and the residence for officials in Hallingdal and there are many great buildings here which reflect a completely different culture than that which is reflected in the somewhat more modest Halling lodges that also exist in the same area. Here you can see Hallingdal first sidewalk, or trottoir, as they liked to call it at the time. This is where the priest, judge and sheriff lived, and Old Nes also saw Hallingdal first shop. Old Nes mainly consists of the buildings in Nesbyen before 1900. Geographically, the area stretches from Hallingdal museum, along Rukkedalselva river to the Hallingdal River and Alfarvegen to Nesbyen town centre. Some buildings outside this area are also part of Old Nes, such as the church, Hagaled, the Station Building and Mortenslokka prison. Visit Old Nes and get to know the place and its history: - A brochure with key information about the houses and hiking maps. Norwegian / English. Free. Tourist office and the museum. - Signs on or by the Houses with key information. - Experience the old town with Audio Guide. Tour of the town with digital storytelling. Norwegian, English and German. Free / deposit for loan. Contact the tourist office or the museum. - Guided walks on request. - Führungen auf Anfrage an die lokale Führer Knut Eidal.
