Enjoy lunch at an elegant restaurant and then explore Koza Han, a vast market that was the center of silk trade for many centuries.

An excellent private tour by Neon Tours. Our guide, Ozcan (a university professor), was knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. The pacing was perfect and with the tranfers and lunch provided, this really was the best (and most reasonable) way to see the main sights of Istanbul. I followed previous reviewers and declined the visits to the spice and rug shops. Skip the Grand Bazaar (a most disappointing maze of knock-off merchandise) and shop down the local streets which have many charming quality items you actually do want to buy.

The city with spectacular views of the Temple of Athena. The ancient city of Assos was founded in the 6th century BC. Assos was home of a philosophy school by living a time of Aristotle. The highest point in the city's name to the temple of Athena, is the daughter of Zeus and one of the 12 gods of Olympos. The Temple of Athena which the first and only Doric temple built in Anatolia, also attracts attention with its outstanding views. Assos is also the period of the ancient Roman theater, the agora, the necropolis (cemetery) and the walls can be seen.

It is rare that the name fits exactly the people you meet, and this is what happened to us (mother with two daughters) when we took a very last minute decision to do a school spring break tour in Turkey, inspired by books of Troy and Greek mythology that my kids were reading. Hassle Free Travel is run by an incredible family: we were served by the young, bright & friendly sister and brother Ezgi & Ozgur who organised everything for us: transport in the most comfortable van, budget accommodation in most convenient locations and most importantly, a top-notch guide Erjan who is an absolute treasure of information for old and modern Turkey (including ancient Greece & Anatolia) - basically a google search in human form. This team arranged a private tour for our family and were flexible to change & adapt to our needs. The travels were far more Covid-safe than I imagined before I left, in the end I got the feeling we would be more exposed to Covid if we stayed home than in this tour. I have never met travel agents who were more disciplined and most friendly human being at the same time. This is no accident though: this company has been doing Gallipoli tours since 1970s when Ezgi's and Ozgur's dad first established the company so the dad covered the transport to and from Istanbul airport for us. On top of it, this company (largely through the most wanted guide) has a seriously specialised knowledge of Ancient Greek places which no one should die before visiting. My kids and I enjoyed an incredibly reasonably priced private tour of Canakkale, Troy, Ephesus, Pergamon, Dydymus, Priene, Miletus, Temple of Artemis (one of the seven wonders of the world), Isa Bey Mosque in Selcuk, Virgin Mary House, Troy & Ephesus Museums & village of Sirince. There is something mystical about doing these places in times of Covid, you get to experience lots of places intimately, and you get private tours that you would, in other circumstances have to share with many others! I must say, I was most impressed how our driver and guide never ever removed the anti-covid masque from their faces! We feel humbled and privileged we got to travel with the Hassle Free Travel team, I would hire them again and invite them to my house also!

Booked through Goodman tours weeks before our scheduled Balloon flight via Viator. Received confirmation, got tickets. Night before our flight we get an email, not from Goodman tours but from Viator advising that Balloon flight has been cancelled due to “overbooking”. Rang Goodman tours, they say cancelled because of bad weather but there were heaps of other balloon flights the next morning. Very disappointed as we went to Cappadocia specifically for the Balloon ride. Could of let us know earlier in the day so we could book another flight. Goodman tours offered a complimentary activity, but if never eventuated. Will not use them again.

Went on a “private” group tour. It is winter and due to lesser visitors, we got a private tour for a group tour price. From Izmir, it took about 45-60min to arrive at the Ephesus. There was an optional rest room stops along the way. Our guide, Belkant, did a fantastic job of explaining all the sites in Ephesus and later, the Home of Virgin Mary, which was on top of a mountain near Ephesus. The tour included a good Turkish lunch at carpet factory. Of course, there was the “flying carpet” show to entice potential buyers. We learnt a lot about the Turkish carpet industry but we are not a big fan of carpets in general. So politely, we declined all their offers.

I enjoyed taking this one-day trip from Kusadasi to Pammukale. It was a long day, but it was worth it. We also stopped to eat some food, and it was delicious!
Anatolia aka Asia Minor is a very large peninsula in western Asia and the westernmost part of the continent of Asia. It is the majority of modern-day Turkey, our country. Many great historical people, such as the Hittites, the Lydians, the Greeks, the Persians, the Armenians, the Romans, the Goths, the Minoans, the Byzantines and the Turks, have lived in or occupied Asia Minor. The Roman Empire had a province called Asia, also known as Phrygia. As we take you from one city to another, we just wanted to introduce those important civilizations that left their mark in our country. With 30 years of experience in the travel industry, our team is ready to offer us an unforgettable experience of a diverse mix of history and culture. Join our saga in Asia Minor.
