Things to do in Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District: The Best Paint & Pottery Studios

October 24, 2021 Lean Nau

The birthplace of the tango is, like the dance itself, captivating, seductive and bustling with excited energy. Atmospheric old neighborhoods are rife with romantic restaurants and thumping nightlife, and Buenos Aires' European heritage is evident in its architecture, boulevards and parks. Cafe Tortoni, the city's oldest bar, will transport you back to 1858, and the spectacular Teatro Colon impresses just as it did in 1908. Latin America's shopping capital offers the promise of premium retail therapy along its grand, wide boulevards.

Tango Integral

We are a group of Tango Dancers and Teachers with long experience at National and International level. We have developed our method that allows us to understand the different dimensions involved in learning this discipline by highlighting technical, musical, cultural and historical aspects crossed by the world of emotions and senses.

I went on this trip in November 2018 and it was unforgettable - all because of the wonderful way in which Dani and Pablo from Tango Integral crafted the visit. They organised every bit so lovingly and carefully that I simply felt pampered. A few of us joined from UK & US. They made sure to match local tango events with the days we were there. We went to a myriad of hand-picked workshops, classes, milongas (in underground and upscale venues), saw performances and “dipped our toes” in spontaneous dancing, indoor and outdoor, across a few neighbourhoods. A few places of “madness” include Los Laureles, Chauche Clu, La Maleva, Batacazo, La Boca, MALBA, etc. All the while, it was really nice to have the schedule, local travel and essential “details” be taken care of. It would have taken me forever to organise that for myself, I would have missed so much and wouldn’t have found gems that match my views and style so well! We took lessons with instructors who love to teach and are good at it… and - more importantly for me - it was special to get to know them as people, be a bit philosophical, and spark friendships. Ines’s place was welcoming, clean, and had a gorgeous garden, perfect for us to relax, mingle and chit-chat in between tango excursions. Speaking of pampering, the breakfasts were lavish - I still miss the lemonades! The best part, of course, was the atmosphere that emerged in the group and the charming homeyness: it now feels natural to think of being back there again soon…
