Bristol Riverside Theatre

Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) is a professional regional theatre in the historic district of Bristol Borough. The theatre, located in a renovated movie house, combines the excitement of a large stage with the intimacy of a 300-seat theater, along with outstanding lighting and sound technology. I did not know what to expect from a show that is 250+ years old, but the cast, the direction and the staging of "The Rivals" made it very contemporary and hilarious. Sort of reminded me of "The Importance of Being Earnest", with catchy musical numbers and a very talented cast of ten who all interacted beautifully with each other. BY ALL MEANS, SEE THIS SHOW!

Bucks County Playhouse

Founded in 1939 in a converted 1790 gristmill, Bucks County Playhouse quickly became “the most famous summer theatre in America,” featuring a roster of American theatrical royalty including Helen Hayes, George S. Kaufman, Moss Hart, Kitty Carlisle, Angela Lansbury, Alan Alda, Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters, and Liza Minnelli and remained in continuous operation until 2010. In 2012, the Playhouse re-opened after a multi-million-dollar restoration thanks to the efforts of the Bridge Street Foundation. In 2018, the Playhouse unveiled The Deck, a 4,000 square foot Delaware-river view restaurant. In 2014, Tony Award-winning producers Alexander Fraser and Robyn Goodman took the helm of the Playhouse. Today the creative teams who create new productions here are among the most talented artists working in the professional theatre. They relish the opportunity to work on the historic stage where Grace Kelly, Robert Redford, and Jessica Walter began their careers.

This is a great place to see a show. Its close by, (Bensalem, PA ) Tickets are cheap enough. They have a lot of variety in the shows they choose. There is not a bad seat in the house. The seats themselves are not great, stadium seating, you do move if someone else moves in your row. But come on you are there for a show, its an hour and half show. So no problem being comfortable for that amount of time.
