Great variety of unique gifts, tastefully arranged in a small area that is easy to navigate without being right on top of other shoppers. Despite the store name, it is so much more than purses....clothing, jewelry and gifts and such a wide variety of themes! Enjoyed it so much we made another trip into Bryson City and stopped in a second time. Customer service was top notch.

I stopped in to try their fudge, as I’m visiting from out of town. They were so friendly and allowed my ESA dog to accompany me even. I tried a sample of their turtle fudge and it was so good! I’d have bought more if it wouldn’t melt in my luggage on my trip home. I recommend this shop!

Humanite serves a booming market of locals and Western NC visitors along with the students of nearby Western Carolina University (WCU) - Smith’s Alma Mater. Smith and her staff scout and source on-trend clothing, shoes and accessories, with most pieces affordably priced at under $100. “We have a fabulous client base and really cater to these women, often shopping at market with their individual styles and sizes in mind,” she says. “Unmistakably Southern, we really love to make connections across generations, offering looks for grandmothers as well as their teenaged granddaughters.” Following through on her giving back mission, 10 percent of Humanite’s sales are donated to Heart for Africa and other global and local charities. As Smith explains, “Humanite customers shop with their hearts on their sleeves.”

One stop shop for the Great Smoky Mountains and Bryson City, Swain County, North Carolina t-shirts, gifts, and souvenirs.
What a cool little shop; there is plenty to see and shop for, from unusual items to decorations for the home and yard. They also have lots of t-shirts to pick from as well.

This shop is managed and run well. Item selections are something for everyone on the classier side - the outside to the decor and the display of (not a T-shirt shop!). If you do not have time to hit many of the quaint shops put this one at the top of the list so you do not miss it. (I walked from street parking space - credit cards accepted)

We are a solely family owned and operated shop located on the river banks of the Tuckaseegee in Bryson City. We specialize in boots, outwear for everyone, hats, gloves, t-shirts, western wear, functional clothing, and talks around the old wood burning stove. Our store is housed in one of the oldest building in town ( circa 1910) and is full of character; just like its owners. Our items are fairly priced and our boots are the best price around without sacrificing quality.
We stopped in here because my husband likes to hike and he forgot his winter hats and I forgot long johns. This was a particularly cold weekend. I've read where others thought the prices were too high. We thought it was very reasonable. My husband found some high dollar wool hats for very cheap prices. I found long johns for cheap as well. The lady working there was very helpful and gave us suggestions on sights to see. There were some cool tshirts and the lady tried to find the one I liked in my size. The building is old and unique. If I'm back in the area, I'd go again.
