Drove 1.5 hours from Bandar_Seri_Begawan. Take the coastal drive. Well worth a visit. Provides a really good history of petroleum... There’s plenty of English translations. The lady at reception was excellent, spoke very good English and knowledgeable. There are plenty of places to see along the coastal drive. You’ll end up driving through an oil refinery. There’s also the Billion Oil Barrel Monument near the sea. Starbucks on route, and kfc etc... plenty of service stations ‘shell’.

A tribute to the sultan and the grand trappings of Royalty, this museum is a highlight of any trip to Brunei. The main gallery presents an impressive recreation of the coronation of His Majesty The Sultan, displaying the gilded carriage which carried the newly crowned Sultann through the streets of the capital city, along with gold and silver ceremonial armour. The Royal Exhibition Gallery showcases a selection of Royal Regalia from His Majesty's childhood days up to the time of his coronation, such as jewel-encrusted crowns, thrones, garments and His Majesty's revered silver Keris (dagger). The Silver Jubilee Gallery celebrates the mark of His Majesty's 25th ruling year. Here, one can view film footage of the auspicious event, amongst other Royal Regalia that made an appearance during the occasion. There is also the Constitutional History Gallery, which houses documents, photographs, film and recordings, and a gallery devoted to the life of His Majesty The Sultan up to the time of his coronation. Opening Hours : Sat-Thu, 9am-4:30pm , Fri 9am-11:30am, 2:30pm-4:30pm Shoes are to be removed before entering

It's all about history of Brunei and culture, but few only written in English most of the books and scripts written in Arabic. You have to remove your shoes and wear their own slippers.

The Brunei Museum was established in 1965, with its first administrative office at the Civic Centre in Bandar Brunei, now known as Bandar Seri Begawan. Given approval for a building of its own, a location was selected for the museum, on a historical site, at Kota Batu about 5km from Bandar Seri Begawan. The construction of the building commenced in 1968 and was completed in 1970. It was officially opened on February 29, 1972 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of United Kingdom.
