Salt Spring Model Railway Show

We had no idea what to expect but glad we drove up the hill. The ‘Train Controller’ was very informative and his passion for trains a joy to watch. The show was fun to watch and full of humour, what an amazing train set...a 40 year love in the making.

We had an amazing tour and hands on experience at Dino Lab. The tour guide was fantastic. Our grandson could not believe that he was allowed to touch so many dinosaur bones, hold a meteorite, see glow in the dark rocks, and sit at a lab bench and work with a real dinosaur bone!!!

Miniature World has been a mainstay attraction for many years. Located in the Fairmont Empress Hotel, Miniature World will delight young and old alike. There are several themed areas. My favorites were the Fields of Glory, and The Circus. I also liked the recreations of Canada's cities back in the turn of the century, complete with light effects turning day into night. The friendly staff have taken all necessary precautions for COVID 19. Plan on a good hour or more to take it all in. Make Miniature World a stop on your next visit to Victoria.

Okanagan Heritage Museum

Discover the natural and human history of Kelowna. Museums are living places, and that’s true of Kelowna’s flagship museum, the Okanagan Heritage Museum too. In fact, the entire permanent gallery has been reimagined! In spring 2019, we wrapped up a multi-year process that saw us overhaul our entire permanent gallery. Pay us a visit and enjoy our ‘new’ museum. Experience fascinating displays and learn how the Okanagan valley was formed, and why it supports tremendous biodiversity. Step into the world of the syilx/Okanagan people, and gain insights into their close connection to the land. Learn about the arrival of traders and settlers, and peer into the windows of an original “Chinatown” shop. Meet some individuals from Kelowna’s past and present, and be inspired by the Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame. This museum is also home to two important facilities: the Kelowna Public Archives and the Ursula Surtees Regional Conservation Laboratory.

they have very good kids content and programs for school. They value their volunteers and work them into their kids programs. Interesting ecological footprint perspective. It's a very small museum almost all of the exhibits are child focused. An hour is plenty of time to see and explore the whole place. Its not somewhere you would go the spend the entire day.
