This old-fashioned toy store is filled floor to ceiling with hard-to-find classic toys and books, puzzles and pedal cars. You'll feel like you've stepped back into your childhood as you search for nostalgic toys and discover those storybooks your grandmother used to read to you. A delightful collection of children's toys, classic storybooks, and dress-up clothes. Old timey pedal cars, Gund, Mary Meyer, and Jellycat plush animals, Radio Flyer wagons and tricycles fill the rooms of this charming old house. Hape and HABA wooden toys, rocking horses, jack-in-the-boxes, spinning tops, Madame Alexander and Corolle baby dolls, etc. Betsy Newman, the owner, was a Kindergarten teacher before opening this toy and book store. Now she just plays all day :) REGULAR HOURS: Wed-Thurs-Fri-Sat 10-4. EXTENDED HOURS during Bluebonnet Season and Christmas.
While we stayed in Brenham , Texas for a week stopped by this Wonderful Toy, Book, and Doll Shop, The Owner Betsy is quite Friendly and Knowledgeable about her items for sale. If she does not have it I bet she could order it for you. This is in her Grandparents 1960's style home now converted into this Store. Here items for sale are delightful and a nice selection of Items. If you like Madam Alexander Dolls she has those too. If you are nearby such as Houston come on up and buy your children some wonderful things with such a large selection and its a Real Toy Store. Recommended , Clyde

We went to the Blind Willie Johnson tribute concert last night. It was our first time here and we loved it. The tribute is for a Blues musician from the area at the turn of the century and they hold this tribute in his honor every year by bringing in Blues bands on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The band was awesome. We loved the ambience in the biergarten with the lights and the murals and the trees. It was a feel good kind of place. We will definitely be back. We were also extremely impressed with Historic Brenham. It is very charming and we want to return for lunch and to check out the shops. We live in NW Houston so it is about an hour drive for us. Not bad, especially in the Spring when the blue bonnets are out. Also would love to check out their shop. I think it was closed when we got there since it was almost 9:00 pm.
