Things to do in Breckenridge, Colorado (CO): The Best Historical & Heritage Tours

May 6, 2022 Carley Gatson

Once a mountain mining town decimated and nearly destroyed by river dredging, the surprisingly versatile Breckenridge has bounced back over the last century to become one of Colorado's top year round alpine getaways, with all-seasons activities galore. Restoration of the river area has led to the creation of pristine hiking trails and greenery in the summer months, but winter is the real draw. Skiers flock to the groomed slopes, chutes and bowls of Breckenridge Ski Resort by the million.

Gail was extremely knowledgeable and dynamic! With Covid she made the best of only being able to share the experience outside. I have been on other tours in the past including New Orleans and Park City. Gail's tour was very original with a nice small intimate tour group size. Thank you Gail for a great night in Breckenridge!

This was a highlight on our trip to Breckenridge and a cool experience to go back in time! Our tour guide Cody was excellent! He really knew the history, let us use one of the old mining tools and got to get the feel of what life was like as a gold miner. Plus at the end of the tour Cody taught us how to pan for gold and we got to try it outside the mine! Definitely go experience it for yourself, it’s cool!

Brad did a great job getting us to our destinations and had a lot of information along the way. There was a shield between the front and back seats for COVID safety. Would recommend Brad but would insist the vehicle be sanitized before the trip.
