Sometimes called the “Portuguese Rome” for its many churches, Braga is an ancient town in northwest Portugal. Its history and livelihood are tied to Christianity dating to the 3rd century. The city’s 12th-century Sé (Cathedral) is still one of the most popular attractions. Just outside of town lies the renowned Bom Jesus de Monte pilgrimage sanctuary, with its striking Baroque stairway. After dark, the stoic town turns upside down, with a rich nightlife thanks to its many university students.

An open space with a church that was visited by the pope. Beautiful place, quiet and the halls used for religious activities are worth seeing. View of Braga from that height is also memorable. Pity that this place is not as much known as the boun Gesu church. Only half an hour away. Not to be missed

My favourite place in Braga just for its beauty and laid back charm. The white Braga sign is here for the perfecr tourist snap. The incredible Igreja de Santa Cruz with its spellbinding golden altar is on one corner and the magnificent San Marco Church is at the far end. Lovely well kept grass and shrubs in the square, an absolute pleasure to relax in or walk around.

These is the most Famous Avenue in Braga , not so much for the stores and restaurants but because it connects the city Center Square to the parque da Ponte where it is located the São João chapel (São João is the most famous festivity in Braga) . The top part of the avenue is walk only (no cars) with a nice garden , some nice buildings , the famous Theatro Circo and Avenida Liberdade Street Fashion. .
