I spent an afternoon in this shop and I highly recommend going. Martin is great and I bought a lot of beautiful pottery. Once I returned home, I contacted him because I wanted to see about his new items and he sent a few things to me via DHL. Very responsive on Facebook and I think there is a new website for the shop now. Everything was packaged great and nothing was broken during shipping.

Since 1990, the Kuru Art Project has supported the cultural identity of San artists in the Kalahari desert of Botswana and provided an avenue for these artists to generate an income. The Kuru Art Project is located in D'Kar, in the Ghanzi district, where 70% of the population live in poverty.
We have opportunity to visit Museum, as well as a traditional Kgotla president and to feel breath of their culture, to travel time by having Bushman walk tour. We felt happiness that we could fell of their culture, but also left village very sad by knowing all of their problems (lack of water, electricity, Internet connection and other thing every human needs for a normal life. They dont have even one supermarket and for everything they need, it is a travel about 30-40km to Ghanzi. Even with all these problems, they welcomed us and gave their best to we dont feel their problems. If you have opportunity to visit their village and museum - DONATE. Whatever you can - by donating money or buying handcrafted souvenirs. Help this people and their children have brighter future!
