Regardless who you are, if you're going to Malta, you have not experienced fully without this guided tour of Valletta. In one day I did first the Valletta tour and then the Mdina tour with Matthew as a guide and I could not have been more satisfied. The way Matthew tells the stories of the city, reflecting on the leadership of the various knights of S:t Johns order and the strategic location of the city up until more recent times, makes you want to start studying history yourself. Even more, a real historian true to his form, Matthew skilfully relates the more contentious topics of the history and politics of the region's last millennium or so, but with objectivity, so that you yourself learn the different points of view and get a deeper understanding of what has formed Malta as she is today. To summarize - don't come to Malta without taking this tour.

The Valletta harbour cruise will be a truly memorable experience for you. The Grand Harbour between Malta’s Capital City Valletta and the Three Cities of Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua is aptly named. It is grand in every way. There are certainly other fortified harbours around the Mediterranean, but none reach the majesty or provoke as much awe as Grand Harbour with Valletta it’s towering glory and the lovely Three Cities. What better way to admire its seemingly endless fortifications and baroque and medieval architecture, than onboard a ferry cruising on its deep waters and many creeks. Malta’s fortifications are considered to be the best examples of military architecture anywhere in the world. Here are some expert comments on the fortifications surrounding the Valletta Grand Harbour: “the most powerful artificial fortress in the world.” Major General Whitworth Porter of the Royal Engineers.

Yesterday we went on the Fernandes, I was very happily surprised to see the level of professionalism, the beauty and upkeep of the boat, and the delicious food. The captain threw the bread in the water so the snorklers got a special surprise pf swimming with a school of fish. The boat had stairs that you can jump off or go down into the water. They cover the buffet with clingfilm, so the level of hygiene is beyond what I expected. Well done to the crew, who are very friendly and dp their utmost to make sure everyone is happy
