This easy walk, through the forest and marshes to Blafjellstua cabin, is ideal for the entire family. As you approach the cabin, the landscape becomes more open, offering magnificent views of the fjord and mountains. During the winter, Blafjellstua is a popular destination for skiers. On some winter sundays when it´s staffed, you can buy fresh waffles.
Fuglstadfjellet, the highest mountain in Nærøy, straddles Nordland and Trøndelag. The hike follows the forest road and path along Sprangbekken creek. After you pass the falls, the waymarked path will take you to the summit. None of the sections on this hike are particularly challenging. On your way you will pass a stone hut that was once used by local shepherds.
