An engaging museum both for children and for adults who want to feel like kids again. The permanent exhibit includes many fully furnished doll houses, as well as many dolls, fairy houses, puppet theaters and puppets and vintage toys for boys such as trains, planes, tin soldiers and circus wagons. The museum shop sells dollhouse kits and dollhouse furniture, as well as dolls. Hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m., or by appointment. Admission $2 for children over three and $4 for adults.
I was recently in Bennington visiting with my family. My sister-in-law (who is a Bennington native!) and I decided to go see this. It was a first time for both of us. I have been a fan of dolls and dollhouses all of my life so this was a thrill for me. I love the detail that is put into each dollhouse and also the exhibits based on different children's books! Next trip back, it will be on my weekend afternoon to-do list!!! I was fascinated by the workroom where everything is scaled down and created. I highly recommend this to anyone who values miniatures, antique toys and dolls and just wants a chance to be a kid again for an afternoon!

You will want to comeback time after time. The baked goods are just absolutely delicious! The Maple sugar cookies, the apple turnovers, the candy apples, the cheese. Everything is great. Oh and yes it was apple season so I bought a bag of apples (Macoun). I can't say enough about this place. The staff were very helpful and the owner was very nice to talk to. It is no wonder that this place is a success!

Collectible cars on display and memorabilia for car lovers in the gift shop.
Definitely worth swinging by if you're up in Bennington anyhow. Given the Collector Vehicle focus, I'm just astonished that they don't seem to offer the ethanol-free fuel many collectors crave. For that you have to head up Main Street a bit to Stewart's Shops, where they have the 91 octane "good stuff" without the harmful corn husk snot in it.

We had not heard about Bennington Potters before our trip to Vermont. We stopped at the pottery on a whim and were so glad that we did. The shop offers an extensive line of beautiful, unique pottery items. The pottery is made to be used and there are several great colors and designs. We also enjoyed watching some of the workers in the factory. Definitely worth a stop.

Located in the old marble bank on one of the four corners of downtown Bennington, Fiddlehead at Four Corners is a fine art and contemporary craft gallery that features handmade wares from studio artists across North America. We feature blown glass, pottery, jewelry, wood, metal, music, oil paintings, film photography and fiber. We have turned the old gold vault into the world's only "Graffiti Vault" with chalkboard walls and invite customers to "Chalk It Up!" -- an endeavor that has led to 3 self-published books by manager Joey Kulkin. Another vault -- the "Brew Vault" features vintage breweriana while the mezzanines are used for children's art classes. All of the remnants of the bank, opened in 1929, add to the decor, from the 7 brass chandeliers to the original marble counter and floors to the guard's bird nest to the teargas ducts. Fiddlehead began as a mom and pop endeavor in 1997 in a small studio owned by Joel and Nina Lentzner, who graduated from Bennington College in 1991. See you soon!
I found a beautiful blue/purple ceramic bowl on their Facebook shop, and they sent it to Alaska with no extra charge for shipping. Really easy to deal with, they even wrote a X-mas card to my friend.

The Alpaca Shack is the hidden gem of Bennington! The owner, Sandy, is a lovely, warm, and welcoming host who made us feel right at home among the ( BEAUTIFUL) alpacas. Upon arrival to the farm, Sandy greeted us and took us right into the alpaca pen. Surrounded by the heard of alpacas, we were able to stroke their INSANELY soft and beautiful coats and take wonderful pictures with them all while receiving countless adorable nuzzles. In addition, Sandy gave us a wealth of alpaca knowledge giving us the rundown on the different varieties and breeds of alpacas and alpaca care and maintenance. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone. Lastly, make sure to drop into Sandy's alpaca store. The baby alpaca scarfs are soft and gorgeous, and the mittens are to die for! And no, it's not hyperbole; Sliding one's fingers into the mittens felt like putting on a cloud.
