One of the most ancient Jaina centres of Kodagu, Mulluru is in Somwarpet taluk. This place seems to have been the capital of the Kongalvas, who were the subordinates of the Cholas. The Kadu Malleshwara temple, located on the 15th cross of Malleshwaram, is one of the oldest temples in the city and a must visit place. Built in Dravidian style of architecture in the 17th century, it is a renowned Shiva Temple thronged by visitors all through the year. Malleshwaram once a dense forest area (kaadu in local language), gets its name from this temple (Malleshwara) the principal deity of the temple. It is indeed a serene and a peaceful place to be, away from the chaos and hustle-bustle of the city outside the walls of the temple with the sounds of chirping birds and the shlokas being recited by the priests. Just soak in the atmosphere of the surroundings for an out of this world experience.

he name Vidurashwatha is derived from that of a big Ashwatha (sacred fig) tree located in this village.[2] According to a legend of the times of Mahabharata, this tree was planted by Vidura, a courtier in the kingdom of Dhritarashtra; and hence the name Vidurashwatha.[3] In 2001, this ancient tree fell to the ground.[4] The legend says that Yamadharma Raja was cursed to be born as a human being and was thus born as Vidura. After seeing all the bloodshed during the war, Vidura became remorseful and asked Krishna for salvation. Krishna asked him to go for a theerthayatra (pilgrimage). After visiting many places, Vidura came to this place, which was actually a hermitage of Maithreya Maharishi. Once during sandhyavandhana in the river, Vidura got a small sapling when he was about to offer argya to Surya. Maithreya Maharishi asked Vidura to worship the sapling to get salvation.

One of Bangalore’s busiest markets, the KR market, hides this surprise: an elegant palace built by Tipu Sultan, with teak pillars and frescoes. Though incomparable to the more famous Tipu Sultan’s palace at Mysore, this is one of the relatively unknown monuments of Bangalore. Visit this palace along with the ruins of the fort nearby. Also nearby are a temple and a mosque.
Want to know more about the TIGER of Mysore then it’s a must visit place when in Bangalore. Closed on Sundays.

The Bangalore Palace was the private residence of the royal Wodeyar family. Built to resemble Windsor Castle, this quirky palace is filled with an interesting and eclectic collection of art and paraphernalia from a bygone era. The palace grounds are a popular venue for rock concerts and other music events.
It was lovely to see the beautiful Bangalore Palace which is one of the eye catching tourist attractions of the city. The architecture is Tudor style and looks European. It was built by Maharaja Chamraja Wodeyar. It has been the summer residence and it is just beautiful. Lovely paintings and artifacts are displayed. The Maharaja courtyard is the best. The garden is also nice
