Bellevue Botanical Garden

The Bellevue Botanical Garden is an urban refuge, encompassing 53-acres of cultivated gardens, restored woodlands, and natural wetlands. The living collections showcase plants that thrive in the Pacific Northwest. Our demonstration of good garden design and horticulture techniques inspire visitors to create their own beautiful, healthy gardens. We provide a place of beauty, serenity, and learning for thousands of visitors each year. There are also many fun things to do throughout the seasons: plant sales, community celebrations, summer concerts, art exhibits and holiday light festivities.

Bellevue Botanical Garden is a wonderful place to experience the natural world of the Pacific Northwest. The paths take you through a great variety of PNW native species of plants and trees. The suspension bridge is fun to walk over. They offer classes to the public on many topics. The "Garden of DeLights" during the holiday season in December is especially beautiful. You will want to wear comfortable shoes and bring your camera.

Lots of well-maintained bark trails that connect to the Bellevue Botanical gardens and surprises like the Ravine. Head E from the park's SE corner past Kelsey Creek Farm for more of the greenbelt and continue on to Kelsey Creek stairs for an extra challenge.

Path takes you along the slough with a few educational graphics. There are choices to make as the path goes in different directions. One divergent path took us along a blueberry farm, leaves turning a beautiful scarlet. Definitely worth the walk. We’ll visit again and take a different path next time.

Downtown Park

Located just south of the sprawling Bellevue Square shopping mall, this circular park is a beautiful urban oasis. It's especially nice given the building boom of apartments and condos downtown. There's a path around the perimeter for walking or jogging, a large central grass area for frisbee, kite flying or volleyball and a large playground area. Summer movie nights are a family treat, and they're free. Hopefully they will schedule more musical performances there, as the stage area next to the fountain is a great setting.

This is a great park. One of the best we've been to recently, hands down. There are a couple parking lots, and it can be a little wonky, but once that's out of the way, enjoy the park. Walk around to see the sculptures, and the really quite awesome playground. After that, we took a detour to the shopping area right nearby, which has a few nice restaurants and looks absolutely gorgeous at night.
