It was built in 1883 for prominent Belleville Banker John Philpot Curran Phillips and his wife Harriet. Glanmore was designated a National Historic Site for its exceptional 2nd Empire style architecture. The historic house has had extensive restoration. The museum exhibits artifacts original to the historic house as well as fine art and decorative objects from the Couldery collection and artifacts that are significant to local history from the Regional collection. The museum is open-year round.

Was in town for the weekend and decided to attend Sunday Mass here. The seating inside was pretty good, adhering to social distancing. On reception of the Holy Eucharist, it was the priest or lay minister coming to us in between the pews instead of people lining up.
