According to famed diver Jacques Cousteau, the Great Blue Hole of Belize is one of the most spectacular dive sites on earth. The crystal-clear sapphire waters are home to colorful tropical fish and several species of reef sharks – ideal for brave divers who love to get up close and personal with sea life. On dry ground, diverse rainforests, mangrove swamps, and Mayan ruins are perfect for exploration. The beaches of Belize are sunny and tranquil spots for a day of relaxation.

Red Flower Gallery has a beautiful selection of paintings by artist Paulette Salo. She is very well known for classical murals in the US. The paintings here are all scenes of Caye Caulker. One of a kind gift handmade items jewelery, and beachware and the best bug spray you can find.
We didn’t go to Caye Caulker to shop. That said, we wandered in to learn more about the insect repellent sold here and stayed to hear some of Paulette’s life experiences and restaurant recommendations on the island. The local Belizean artwork for sale here is also worth looking at. Her paintings are delightful, colorful, and reflect much of life here. She also generously promotes other local artists on the island. She alone is worth a walk into the store. It’s a good place to hang during a tropical storm, too!

Home of Belizean painter walter castillo's work shop and gallery. Guest can enjoy rush full tropical garden and small farm full of chickens and ducks. Try some complementary local herb tea made in traditional fire hearth. We have ordinal paintings and prints, post card.lunch can be served 1 day notice.
We commissioned Walter to paint a depiction of Hopkins Inn. We gave Walter some ideas of what we wanted included and let his creativity fill in the blanks. Walter visited Hopkins Inn to experience the place and people, developed a sketch on the canvas, and then produced a detailed piece of art he titled “Nice Vibes.” We love it!

The Maya Center Mayan Museum is a culturally interactive museum, that entertains and teach real Mayan culture. We do hands on demonstration, such as tortilla making, Cultural Dance training, Coffee making and now Chocolate making that is more fun as you get to do it your self and eat the chocolate you make! Now, that's fun.
If you are headed through Maya Center, in Dangriga or even Hopkins, Maya Center Museum is a must stop, Julio and his family are gracious hosts who welcome all like family. They happily hosted my study abroad groups hear after year for meals, museum tours, and even chocolate demonstrations. Julio is a charismatic host and was willing to accommodate dietary needs and our travel schedules. The museum is well-put-together and includes interactive portions, perfect for student groups (including tortilla making, cacao milling, and sugar cane crushing) It has been a pleasure to keep in touch with Julio after many years and see how his business has grown.
