We had an amazing time with Fergal. This tour is perfectly paced and takes you to multiple hidden gems along the coastline. Fergal is a knowledgable and thoughtful tour guide who tailors the tour to your interests and always makes sure you’re comfortable. Having a private tour makes all the difference to seeing such a beautiful part of the country. Fergal knows how to avoid the crowds and always provided fascinating and engaging commentary. This tour is absolutely worth taking if you want to learn about Irish history, culture, and food off the ‘beaten track’. It’s an added bonus that Fergal takes excellent photos as well!

IN-DEPTH 3 HOUR POLITICAL MURAL HISTORY TOUR Every city has it’s shopping and coffee culture but Belfast city has a unique past after coming out of 30 years of conflict.Your guides are the original drivers who had to transport their communities through the bullets and bombs of THE TROUBLES and have their lives at risk every time they seat in their black cabs. The North of Ireland has become famous for the murals painted in almost every area of the country . These pictures of IRA ,UVF murals are often flashed around the world on news bulletins or used as a backdrop when interviewing people. They often depict the history and political views of both traditions and are a way of marking territory. These wall paintings often look intimidating but they have become as much of a tourist attraction as many of the regular attractions within Belfast and beyond.
Inclusions: Pickup from Belfast city center (1 km radius from Belfast city hall)
Exclusions: Pickup from airports, train stations and cruise ship ports (surcharge to be paid on the day in cash only)

Being a university student studying the Troubles, I was blown away by the knowledge and experience of Ruari. He answered every question with extreme detail and used his own experiences to illustrate the climate and history of Northern Ireland. He treated much of the tour as a conversation that was extremely enjoyable and informative. We encountered several logistical issues due to unforeseen circumstances but Ruari handled them with remarkable flexibility and patience. I was blown away by the trip and every part of the tour exceeded my expectations.

Only booked the Mural tour the day before visiting Belfast but so pleased that we did. Sean met us at the Titanic Museum where we had parked and gave us an amazing 2 hour eye-opening tour. Having grown up with a Belfast regularly in the news for the wrong reasons, Sean gave detailed explanations as we toured around the city. Very interesting tour, and a highlight of a visit to Belfast, but still quite sad to see the divisions that still exist in this historic city.

As a family we travelled to Belfast in Oct 2019 (been meaning to write this review for ages!) and our most recommended activity was to do the famous Black Taxi Tour. We were lucky enough to get Brendan as our driver and had the most incredible experience. He was so knowledgeable, informative and provided amazing insight into the past and present history of Belfast. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Could not recommend this more!!

On this Experience we will take in some great Live Music venues as we discover Street Art, (some by International Artists) and go on a (wee dander) stroll through the streets of Belfast. I did this tour a couple of days after doing the eclectic Belfast tour. I highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in the history of the Troubles. Marty is extremely knowledgeable and presents both perspectives of the conflict in a fair and even manner.
