Just 10 miles east of La Romana lies the fishing town of Bayahibe. Here, divers will find spectacular coral formations and three shipwrecks: the Atlantic Princess, St George and Coco. In the national park, nature enthusiasts will find lagoons and wildlife, including a variety of birds. There is much to do, but the inviting, soft white-sand beaches are perfect for travelers seeking relaxation.

We had a great day touring the turquoise waters of the Dominican Republic on this first class boat. The crew and Joy all wanted to make sure we had the best time and were very communicative when booking. We had an on-time pickup at our hotel that brought us to the meeting point where we were met by Joy right away and given an overview for what to expect for the day. There is a lot of time to enjoy the boat and lay out on the nets at the front of the boat, and also a good amount of activities such as snorkeling and exploring Soana Island for an hour. The meal included was delicious! You wont regret booking this excursion, many of the other tours we saw were crammed with people and did not look nearly as relaxing as this tour. It can have up to 30 people, but we only had 10 people on our tour.

Trip was amazing. Tour guides were very good. We had fun at the natural pool, and Saona island. Lunch offer was good. Catamaran ride was really fun. The only bad thing was that we had to wait almost an hour for our ride back, as it wasn't well organized, so we thought we will be stuck there, and our resort was more than an hour away. Instead of coming back at 6pm, we arrived at 8 to the resort.

Our National Park of the East private nature tour gets you away from the hustle and bustle and into pristine forest with the best local nature guides around. Our 1.5 hour nature walk takes you through one of the most pristine forests in the Dominican Republic and visits several caves, one of which you can go swimming in. Our adventure begins on the outskirts of the quiet fishing town of Bayahibe, where people have lived and fished for over 1,000 years. Once in the area we set out on a light hike into the beautiful National Park of the East, a vast dry tropical forest and one of the largest parks in the country. We spend the morning exploring the trails and then swimming at a spectacular cave just off trail. Next, we enjoy a delicious Dominican style lunch prepared by a local family in the nearby sea side community of Bayahibe. After lunch we explore the beautiful village a bit and take you to some of our favorite spots in town before heading back.

I took two tours with Manny of Exlora Ecotours while in the Dominican Republic in early February. One was a solo private birding tour and the other was a visit to two rivers and waterfalls with my wife. Manny knows his birds! I saw many of the indigenous species and he was very good at knowing when and where to find them. My wife and I enjoyed the waterfall walks very much. We had lunch at a very nice lodge and the food was great.

Where do I even start? This was a birthday day out that completely ruined a birthday for someone special. We paid $158 for a catamaran which was supposed to include food (chicken skewers, potato salad, snack) and an open bar amongst things that should have been common sense like SEATING, a relaxed yet fun day and actual space to roam aboard. None of that was provided. We had to reach out the morning of for someone to pick us up from our hotel. The excursion didn’t start at 2pm, started after 3pm. As soon as we got dropped off at the location it was complete chaos. We weren’t told who to speak to where to go.. there were just crowds of confused people just following others. They basically gathered loads of people (during Covid) all together and I mean LOADS of people onto four boats lined up and they PACKED those boats to and beyond full capacity (during Covid). We pulled off with people having no where to sit and I do mean no where to sit so lots of people had to stand. Couples were sitting on top of each other and to make matters worse after we were some yards out two more small boats pulled up dropping even more people onto the boat! None of the food promised was provided so we arrived hungry and didn’t eat until after we got back to our hotel. Someone walked around with a small plate of watermelon and pineapples for people to grab from. There was no open bar just two jars of juice that everyone had to pour from. Apparently govt shut down alcohol being served on the boat the day before so we couldn’t argue with that but none of the pictures of anything that said was included was provided. Even after coming back ashore again there was no guidance. We had to go ask how are we supposed to get back and we were then told where to go. This company is just in it for the money. They don’t care about the experience you receive, your comfort level, your safety or your health. Not to mention we weren’t even directed to where life jackets on the boat were in case of an emergency. I took videos of the crowds and multiple boats coming to drop more people onto the boat but TripAdvisor only allows you to upload photos. I have been on multiple catamarans in beautiful places and this excursion was the worst excursion even outside of catamarans that I have ever experienced. We even overheard others saying they only paid $40 to board while we paid $79/each for this horrible experience. We will be requesting a refund for the time, birthday and money wasted.

Save time on vacation! Saona Island is certainly one of the best places to visit in the Dominican Republic and due to its popularity many people every day go to Saona to spend one day in paradise. This tour is very popular but, because of that, customers have to face many pick ups and drop offs from the different hotels, spending several hours on the bus. With this tour we offer you the chance to avoid this problem. In fact you're gonna reach Bayahibe (where the boats leave to Saona) in a private van, just for your group (we require minimum 6 adults) helping you saving at least 2-3 hours compared with the regular tour with the advantage of a late pick up (8:30am) and a early drop off (around 5:30pm). You'll have also a private guide just for you!

Inclusions: Private transportation in comfortable van with a/conditioning, Catamaran and speedboat ride to Saona Island, Tour guide, Lunch buffet style at Saona Island, Rum Drinks (OPEN BAR all day long) and beer at the island, Animation

Great value for what we got! I would normally dock a star for communication, but that kind of issue is SO common around here, it's not like the competition is likely to do better, and again, for the money, I can't complain. But here are my tips for this excursion if you decide to go: - Yes, it will be VERY muddy. They bring you purposely along muddy areas for the fun of it, so wear old clothes and washable shoes. Also put your items in a waterproof bag (we brought freebie vinyl knapsacks my kids were given from old soccer leagues) - Wear those ugly "river sandals" for the cave swim. We all bought pairs at Wal-Mart for $8 each before the trip... they have hard soles and rubber or nylon straps, so you can wear them on any surface but also in the water without them coming off. The bottom of the cave pool is rough and rocky. But amazing! - At the cave, do NOT let the guys with the parrot get you do photos with them. It's a trick. You'll see other visitors with a parrot on their arm or shoulder, and think, "oh cool, a free perk!" It's not. The parrot owners offer to take your photo using your phone, and you're happy till they take back the parrot and demand $20 PER PERSON who was in the photo. My weak husband forked over $40 for him and my son while my daughter and I were in the cave swim, but when I found out what happened, I went over and in Spanish chastised them and insisted they return the money, which they finally did. The tour operators apologized for it (the parrot dudes don't work for them, of course). If you really want the photo, tell them at the outset, "I will give you $5 to take a few photos of my family with the parrot" so that there are no arguments after. - They will give you water bottles halfway through! - Bring your own "gaiter" style mask with ear loops. It's much comfier than the $5 bandanas they will try to sell you at the beginning. Sunglasses and masks are a must because of the dust and mud flying around. - The transportation to/from your resort is an open-air bus. It's a fun, loud ride but not the safest! - The buggies are HARD to steer. You will need good arm strength. - You will get free samples of hot chocolate milk, coffee and the local liquor, "mamajuana." Sweet! Also some kind of bread. I REALLY recommend this excursion. For us, we wanted only something half-day because food is all-inclusive at our resort, so I didn't want something that included paying for another meal. I wanted to get a taste (literally) of the local culture, and do some amazing adventures. This trip delivers! -

This is the second trip that we've done tours with Explora Eocotour. The reason we've contacted them is we loved the first tour so much and this time once again Manny did not disappoint. The tour was beautiful, super fun and interesting. We went swimming on a private wild beach, went swimming in an ancient underground cave, took a hike and had lunch cooked by a local fisherman's family. The guide has deep knowledge and love of the local area and the environment. If you are looking to see places off the beaten path this company is definitely the one to go with. Cannot wait to try out another destination with Explora Ecotour next time we visit

Honestly was not happy about this tour at all. First off driver picks us up has a sitting in the van for mad long. Pulls up to the next resort to pick people up they're really late we're sitting there half hour now so then we start heading to pick up more people because of the holdup we ended up being very late to the start of our excursion. Our tour guide then proceeds to tell us that the government has shut the beaches down for the next week and and that we can't do the beach part and that will get extra time at the cave and buggies. This however was untrue because I did ATVs today which is the very next day and when we got to the beach excursion Park we were told the beach was never shut down yesterday the day before or this week our tour guide just decided that we would pay for it and they wouldn't included in our trip because they were late picking other people up. But None of it was true we got to the cave dipped in move the little and the tour guide is yelling it's time to go now the whole tour was rushed unenjoyable wouldn't recommend it
