Set inside a school grounds and adjacent the Bataan WW2 Museum this is a must see site in the City Of Balanga Bataan. If you're not fully informed of the historic significance of this site take a look at the surrender site statue then go into the museum for an understanding of its importance and the subsequent horrors of the Bataan Death March. Take a moment or two to reflect. The surrender site is free, the museum is P50.

Its a nooculer power plant which was built under the Marcos regime but never used due to the Marcos being overthrown followed by the wee accident at Chernobyl. Tour takes an hour and a half and includes a brief slide show on nooculer power (nooculer, its pronounced nooculer) After that you get to see the turbine hall, electric gear, control room and the reactor room which gets you very close to a nooculer reactor. Most such plants you can't go in the reactor dome due to radiation but since this plant was never fuelled, its perfectly safe as no nooculer fission ever took place. Guide was very informative and explains about the design of the plant, the Philippines Govt is still weighing up whether to us the plant and what it would be involved to do so. A must visit for anyone with an interest in nooculer power.

Nice historic and rustic feel, explore the area and read the marker. Don't forget to take photos as well
