At House of Taste Thai Cooking School, you'll be able to shop at the market, cook authentic Thai food, and eat four favorite dishes. The day will be divided into two parts that will have us exploring fresh market in Khlong Toei or Silom in Bangkok, where you shop for daily fresh ingredients before you cook them. Then, the cooking class will be conducted in an air-conditioned class where you will be introduced to Thai exotic ingredients, including rice, vegetables, spices, and herbs. The school's daily fixed menu consists of the following: 1) APPETIZERS/SOUP: Spicy Lemongrass Salad, Spicy Shrimp Salad, Green Papaya Salad, Hot and Sour Shrimp Soup ("Tom Yum Goong"), or Spicy Coconut Soup with Chicken ("Tom Kha Gai") 2) STIR-FRIED: Stir-fried Rice Noodle with Shrimp ("Pad Thai Goong") 3) CURRY (served with rice): Red Curry with Chicken, Green Curry with Chicken, Massaman Curry with Chicken, or Panang Curry with Chicken 4) DESSERT: Mango Sticky Rice
We had an awesome time cooking with Fah. She was great host and more than willing to answer any questions we had. We started by heading to the market (5 min walk) and picked up some fresh veggies, spices and herbs and fruits. Then we came back, had a snack, and then started cooking. We cooked 4 individual dishes. My fave was the curry. We had a couple guests with allergies and Fah and the staff were more than helpful to accommodate. I am definitely going to try to make a few of these dishes when I head back home. I would recommend this to anyone who has a free morning or afternoon in Bangkok.

CULINEUR is not only a cooking school but rather a student-centered institution which strives to facilitate the transfer of knowledge of culinary arts, entrepreneurship, critical thinking and business management. Culineur’s vision is to become a distinguished Culinary School in Asia, known for training exemplary culinary specialists and entrepreneurs who lead the way to the kitchen of tomorrow. Groomed to become chefs, leaders and quality orientated entrepreneurs with an innate understanding of the industry, its trends and its future needs.
When I first stumbled upon this restaurant, I had no idea it was a culinary school. Anthony Osborne, the managing director, has done a wonderful job in putting together a masterful program for the students to learn in a top level restaurant experience. Chef Alec Gordon has taught the student chefs The importance of food presentation. It’s as good as any four-star restaurant around. The wide variety of daily choices makes eating there even more fun and the prices are so expensive you can eat there every day. The interior of the restaurant is spotless which enhances the dining experience to no end. If you’re in the Emporium shopping mall you will do yourself a disservice by not coming in and giving this a try. You can’t go wrong.

In the space of just a morning or afternoon, you can learn how to cook your favourite Thai dishes. Unlike other cooking schools, at Pia's Thai kitchen you can tell your host, Pia, exactly what you want to cook and when, and she will adapt to your tastes and abilities. Included in the price is a free market tour where Pia will show you how to select the ingredients which make up the magic of Thai cuisine. And unlike other cooking schools, you can sit down to eat your dishes with Pia, or take your food home with you. Pia is a native of Isaan, in North East Thailand, so as well as classic "central" Thai dishes, for the adventurous types, Pia can show you rustic dishes from her home town, including "jungle" food. Pia's techniques are truly authentic, passed down from her mother and grandmother, with everything cooked from original ingredients. Pia was a teacher before qualifying as a chef, and she is a lively communicator who will teach you a lot about Thai language and culture while you are learning to cook! Older children are welcome to join in the class, or if you have small children, let us know and we can make arrangements for them. Classes take place in Pia's home, conveniently located in downtown Bangkok, minutes from Phrom Pong BTS station. Pia can teach groups of up to 6 people. Pia looks forward to welcoming you and unlocking the secrets of Thai cuisine!
