We book and purchase national and international flights. We offer tourist transport services (buses, vans and cars). We offer 2 types of tours: Group tours, for those who travel alone and/or prefer to be part of a group while visiting their destination(s) of interest, with an established itinerary and specified days for travel. Rancho Patococha is a hidden place in the Ecuadorian Andes. We have chosen this place specifically because of its lush nature and tranquility, as a space where our guests can recharge from the crazy city life and share unforgettable moments. Our specialty is horseback rides, which are done around the ranch and where you can enjoy the picturesque landscapes and forest which surrounds our property.

Horseback riding in the beautiful hills/mountains surrounding Cuenca is a must for all who visit this beautiful region. Monta Runa horseback tours is the oldest of its kind in Cuenca and the guides have over 12 years of experience. The horses and equipment are all top of the line. Special 2-3 day camping and horseback ridging tours and night tours are also available as well as private tours.
Highly recommend a ride with Carlos and his beautiful horses for both novice or experienced riders. Having ridden through Central and South America, I’ve noticed the horses tend to be on the smaller side. The main team here are Spanish breeds, tall and very strong which was a pleasant surprise and an absolute pleasure to ride. ‘Tango’ had such a smooth trot and great spirit. The scenery is beautiful and our ride took us to a fantastic vantage point of Cuenca and the surrounding Andes. Carlos was an excellent host (and speaks perfect English in case you’re concerned) and takes great care to ensure the whole experience is enjoyable for guests and the horses. You can expect personal transfers, opportunity to groom the horses, pointers for how to ride, tack checks, hoof picking on trail, local history lessons, heaps of information on flora, treats for the horses and a delicious home cooked lunch after the ride. Private rides are available and if you have some experience riding I think they would be a lot of fun! It’s clear Carlos truly loves his horses and what he does (which is not always the case with horse riding tours). Thanks for the great ride and hope to return one day!
