This was an extremely fun and educational way to see Catalina in it's truest form. Our guide Beth was an islander with a wealth of knowledge and a willingness to share the colorful history. I had no idea that the Wrigley's had such a huge impact on the island's development and it's conservation! We went for a thrilling if not cold ride up into the mountains to see the views from up at 1500 feet, we discovered hidden valleys and coves, and saw all the wildlife available on the island. We even saw a nesting family of bald eagles. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it! Bring warmer clothes because its cooler up in the mountains! And hold on tight because its going to be a bumpy ride!

Take a trip down memory lane to the days when bands were big and movies were just beginning to talk. The Catalina Casino epitomizes everything glamorous about Santa Catalina Island. You'll see the extraordinary Art Deco murals and a classic 1929 pipe organ inside the Avalon Theatre, which still shows nightly movies on its massive screen. A short film is shown highlighting the history of this iconic building and its Hollywood connection. This tour requires uphill walking inside the casino.
Inclusions: Professional guide
Exclusions: Gratuities
Driver was full of info, nicely done, but the open ride vehicle was crowded, uncomfortable. Scenery was pretty amazing.

The Fantastic Race St Thomas was the best excursion on our trip! We met Bonnie right outside on the pier after exiting the ship. The challenges were fun, tricky, and an amazing way to see St Thomas. At the first stop, we split into teams (everyone stayed with who they came with, but it would have been totally okay to join up with others in case you're traveling alone or want more brain power!). We got our packets (including maps, pens and clipboard!), and were off to start the first challenge and receive our first clue. The race brought us to sites we never would have seen otherwise (all included in the price of excursion). Bonnie makes it clear that you're able to go at your own pace (we ran from site to site, but if you're there to really soak in the sites, a leisurely pace is okay, too!). All of the locals we interacted with (both part of the scavenger hunt and not!) were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were able to sample food and drinks from different small, locally owned businesses. I wish they had this excursion at every port! Like I said, it was the highlight of our cruise. Thank you Bonnie & Fantastic Race St Thomas! What a blast!

Take a self-guided GPS audio tour through the streets of Avalon with me. My name is Matthew and I am one of the 4000 residents of Avalon. Being a local I get asked a lot of questions. Do you live here full time? How expensive is it? What is that large house up on the hill? Why does everyone drive around in golf carts? How can you have a casino that doesn't allow gambling? Along with historians, authors, and other passionate locals, we will walk the streets of Avalon to answer these questions and more. You'll learn the stories behind our town and its famous landmarks from the people who live here. The tour is ready whenever you are and the audio plays automatically at exactly the right time and place using your smartphone's GPS and the VoiceMap mobile app, which also works offline.
Inclusions: Lifetime access to Avalon City tour, VoiceMap Application, Offline access to audio, maps, and geodata
Exclusions: Smartphone, Transportation, Food/Drink, Tickets or entrance fees to any museums or other attractions en route
