Things to do in Auckland, North Island: The Best Movie Theaters

October 24, 2021 Matilde Konrad

The Māori call Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau — a maiden desired by 100 lovers, and a valuable territory fought over for centuries for its fertile land and natural harbors on the Pacific Ocean (to the east) and Tasman Sea (to the west). Today, it’s New Zealand’s largest city: A vibrant and diverse place where nature and urban life go hand-in- hand, with 48 volcanic cones, more than 50 islands, and 29,000 km of coastline and beaches just minutes away from the arts and shopping of the central city.

I love this cinema - such a classy and comfortable experience! The cinemas (there are two) are nice and cosy, with 44 leather reclining seats each. The picture and sound are great. They've got the best popcorn around, as well as Duck Island ice cream and a great drinks & hot food menu delivered in cinema :) BYO wine too. Friends were very impressed - we'll definitely be coming back!

viewed the "Passion of Augustine" on thursday 16th - the manager was excellent and most friendly and helpful. I used to be the ice cream kid selling ice creams back in the 60's so brought back great memories - of screaming girls at the Beatles movies!!! and more..the toilets were clean and well maintained the theatre remains the same to this day.we viewed in a smaller theatre and although the film started without subtitles the manager soon fixed the problem immediately - very impressed -thanks to those involved who have maintained the theatre in such a good state..cheers and thanks

This is the best cinema in Auckland to watch a movie. It is spotlessly clean, the staff are polite and welcoming, and they have the best range of icecreams

It’s a modern and huge cinema. It’s a huge building with a food court, arcade games on the lowest floor, a bar, very friendly staff and opportunity for seeing imax movies. Absolutely worth a visit
