Visited with my 4 children (10 to 15) on our last evening in Greece, having spent two weeks on the beach. Great fun, excellent value for money at 19 euros per person for a all day pass!

About a km from Omonia is this grand green space. Planned in the early 1930s in remembrance of the heroes of the struggle for independence from the Ottomans, many of whom are finely honoured in marble in the park. At the main entrance is a monumental equestrian sculpture of King Constantine I. Not far away is a tremendous statue of Athena atop a lengthy pedestal with a lion standing sentinel. Lovely tranquil pathways are laid out. While strolling along we happened across the pleasing the Church of the Archangels, with nearby a stately sculpture of a reclining figure.
