If you’re into eating locally and supporting sustainable agriculture, go to Asheville—and eat, eat, eat. This town of less than 100,000 people has 17 farmers’ markets, and the local restaurant scene is all about taking advantage of the seasonal produce sold there. And don’t miss the area’s microbreweries.

New Morning Gallery has been celebrating American-made crafts since 1973. Showcasing hundreds of artists in ceramic, wood, glass, metal and beyond, we are one of the largest craft galleries in the country – and, by many, the most beloved! Located in the heart of the historic Biltmore Village in Asheville, NC, our gallery and annual craft fair draw art-lovers from near and far. At New Morning Gallery we cherish what is beautiful, functional, crafted and lasting; we call it Art for Living.
I love the mix of arts and crafts in this store. We have pieces large and small from here. Lots of unique gift and decor items. It has the obligatory NC pottery, but so much more. Give yourself a couple of hours to explore.

Book Store/Art Store
Beautiful bookish atmosphere. Very relaxing. It’s quite a tight space so make sure to go at off peak hours. The selection of collectibles is amazing and by far the best I’ve seen.

He and his team of craftsmen handcraft heirloom-quality furniture with a focus on design, craftsmanship, and sustainability. A salt glaze pot by "ML" Owens was such a great find this weekend at the Appalachian Craft Center in Asheville, North Carolina! In 2000, Owens was awarded the NC Folk Heritage Award for seven decades of pottery making. The Westmore potter (just outside Seagrove, NC) died at 85 years of age in 2003. Charlene and I highly recommend Jackie's shop on Spruce Street. #AppalachianCraftCenter #OwensPottery #Saltglaze #MLOwens !

We also offer spiritual and wellness services like Astrology, Tarot readings, Reiki, Energy healing and Intuitive Channeling. If you're in town on vacation or on an event, book a private or group session, or check our FB events tab for our Healers/Readers schedule.
First stop to downtown Asheville for our shopping trip. (Because it was open at 10am) And quite a few stores don't open till 11. And we are old hippies, lol. The staff (Kelly) was very personable, knowledgeable and very nice! We talked and looked, and of course purchased a few things too! Now that we know were it's located, we will go back again!

Asheville Bee Charmer specializes in Local Artisanal Honeys, and hosts Asheville's first Honey Tasting Bar. We also offer International Artisanal Honeys, Infused Honeys, Local Beeswax/Honey Body Care and Soaps, and Locally Made Handcrafted Pottery.
I have wanted to check this place out ever since my brother and SIL came back from their trip to Asheville last year raving about how cool this shop was. They were so right. The shop has lots of interesting and cool bee themed gizmos like bowls, salad tongs, t-shirts, etc. They also have a great selection of honey and bees wax products. I got a jar of the lotion from there that's meant to help with skin hydration and relaxation. I love the smell. The honey bar was also a lot of fun. Their firecracker honey was amazing!!

A collection of lifelike fine porcelain/mixed medium animals that feel as good as they look. Over sixty breeds of sheep plus many other domestic animals and wildlife. Also nativities and pet cremains urns.
While in Asheville and looking for an adventure of a different kind, I contacted Colin to visit his studio. We arrived and were greeted outside and were in awe of what we saw. The creatures are extremely life like and there is a variety to creatures to behold. The quality and attention to detail in each piece was incredible. Talking with Colin was also a treat. His love of travel and culinary treats were shared by us. Take the time to stop by and enjoy the many creatures that await there.
