Visited the desert with our great guide Abdul. Surfed the dunes in a Land Cruiser before enjoying dates & coffee in a native Bedoin camp. All in all it was an inspiring day, very informative & a great way to see Oman.

Wadi Tiwi

Reviewed By Airman_blue1 - Vienna, Austria

I went there first in the morning after leaving from Sur. The road is easy to find (use maps.me) and gets exciting the more you drive into the valley. At some point I would strongly recommend a 4WD car, as it gets very steep and narrow and if the ground is wet you cannot continue with a standard car. You need some good nerves sometime, don't give up! You will end in a small village where children play around and offer you guidance to the pools. Basically you walk down to through hundreds of terraces where they plant all sort of stuff (also bananas) and will then find very big rocks with great blue watered pools in between. I was alone there and could enjoy swimming and making pictures. The water is not too cold, around 22° (in December).

Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve

Reviewed By Traveler-SR84 - Muscat, Oman

Had an amazing time at Ras Al Jinz reserve; stayed overnight (got upgraded to their Eco-Tents) and did both night (9pm) and Morning (5 am) excursions to Reserve's beach. Recommend visiting in the high season (May - early Aug) as we saw many turtles building up their nests and were lucky to see few hatch-lings taking the arduous route to the sea. Reserve's guides are very helpful and do their best to accommodate everyone without disturbing the Turtles. Request folks to follow the instructions from the guides and avoid flash light photography that disturbs the turtles. We stayed at the reserve and the stay covers the night+ morning trips & delicious breakfast. Dinner (Buffet spread) was very nice too. Overall very enjoyable trip.
