I was blessed to have had the opportunity to celebrate my most auspicious day of birth amongst the chanting of lamas in their prayer hall under the Buddha’s glorious blessed feet. The Monastery celebrates it’s annual Mask Dance festival, and the colour of demons with dramatic musical background score – is once in a lifetime experience, not to be missed.

We took the ropeway (INR100 per person per trip, to and fro; min. ppl 4 per trip). The experience was delightful and the view is "from out of this world". Do not opt for the ropeway if you're scared of heights. The monastery is so serene and calming that it stirs your heart. We were offered butter tea and hot water by a very old Nun. Prayers were being chanted by two monks continuously.

There's only two dogs and a cow to keep you company. It's totally quiet and deserted. The building has only Stupas inside. We walked around it and entered the door. We prayed and took pictures and walked out. We sat for a while, absorbing the calm and quiet atmosphere, with nothing to talk about.
