An extraordinary morning!! You have to arrive very early but it is well worth it. So many booths selling fresh/frozen fish plus tremendous varieties of different authentic Japanese foods being cooked before your eyes. Go hungry as you will not leave that way. A can't miss experience.

All kinds of seafood stall. BBQ strategy: Look for little store selling glad wrap, paper cups etc, buy foil to wrap fish! Better to have oil to grease the foil so it won't stick. If you have packet oil from your instant noodle...Extra chopsticks for handling uncooked food. Extra wet tissue for sterilizing utensils such as tongs. All these available inside the stores in the centre. Then go around and choose your seafood for BBQ. bear in mind, the shell type food comes with a natural cooking utensil. Eg oyster, scallop. Splurge on the biggest scallop, it is very very good. Try to cut/detach it from the shell in the cooking. It cooks better. The red prawns with big head super sweet. The BBQ store will provide you with seasoning and simple tools for cooking. Beer is 500 yen or 800 yen for a large glass. Rice 250 yen/bowl. Please make sure you ask for the key for a locker to store your belongings so it won't smell of BBQ. There is a 2-hour time limit. Other than BBQ, there are also other types of food such as sashimi, freshly blended fruit juice, ice cream, ramen, bento sets etc. Closes at 6 pm! To get there, catch the hakkuen (100yen) bus from Hachinohe station. It is a 10 min ride. Note the bus schedule for your return trip.

To buy food in the centre, one has to buy tickets (1500 Yen for 10 tickets) to exchange for food. The stalls in the centre offers a huge variety of freshly caught seafood which would become sashimi. So I was given a bowl of rice (1 ticket) and went to the stalls to exchange generous portions of tuna, spicy roe, scallop (each took 1-3 tickets) etc. I really enjoyed this experience as I could pick the sashimi of my choice rather than choosing from a list of pre-determined sets. The price is reasonable too. Would recommend my family and friends who would like to try fresh sashimi to come eating at this centre.

Nice place for shopping and small pause in the middle of a busy sightseeing day! A great choice of apple juice, cider, jams, chips, etc. They propose a snack in a burger spot or a degustation of apple cider on the first floor, just above the brewery you can see in operation through glass windows. The cider tasting is in itself a very peculiar experience, since first you should charge a magnetic card with 900 yen or more and get a glass. Then you go to the degustation machines, insert it and choose a cider you want to taste, one by one. It’s like a deluxe version of drinks vending machine! Don’t hesitate to try it if you like cider.
