Things to do in Antwerp, Flanders: The Best Classes & Workshops

July 13, 2021 Osvaldo Hartline

Lively Antwerp is a hidden gem. Its medieval streets, Renaissance monuments and vibrant nightlife tend to be overshadowed by its reputation as center of the diamond trade and as the world's fifth-largest port. Biking is a popular choice for getting around this stylish Flemish city. See thousands of Old Masters at the Royal Museum and Rubens House. Experience the bustle of life at the Grote Markt. Marvel at the art and architecture of the still unfinished Cathedral of Our Lady, started in 1351.

I followed a workshop with a friend at Rombach’s glass last year and it was fantastic. I’ve always been fascinated with the art that flows from hot glass and this workshop gave me the perfect opportunity to quench my thirst ( so to speak ). I learned a lot and Frederik is with you the entire process, so forget those cold feet ! Furthermore: all glass that is used is recycled glass, so it’s also an ecological workshop.

The passion for wine and culinary pleasure have been a common thread throughout my life for countless years. Dorina is now certified in WSET Level 3 and is fully active in achieving WSET Level 4.
