Alaska is divided into five regions: far north, interior, southwest, south central, and inside passage. Although it takes a long time to see the entire state, you can travel through the regions by boat, car, bus, or plane. Hike through the mountains, or venture out on a deep sea fishing or whale watching excursion. Get in touch with nature by camping in the wilderness, or experience your preferred degree of class and luxury in the beautiful, active cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Amazing views of Seward and Resurrection Bay. My brother and I decided on the not recommended trails; it's not recommended for a reason. The race trails are very steep, overgrown, and confusing. Stick to the recommended trails and you'll be fine - still steep. We also saw a black bear in the brush so take bear spray.

This is a wonderful stop as you are driving between Anchorage and Denali. The memorial acknowledges all 5 branches of the military and is very tasteful and thought-provoking. In addition to the memorial, there are also bathrooms and on a clear day, views of Denali.

We had a great time. Make sure you have warm clothing and bring a snack, the trip is long but worth it. Bathrooms are limited to an outhouse and one rest area (when open).

I had some time one trip waiting for the Ferry and walked to the Memorial. To honor all those lost at sea and a place for those left behind. It was humbling to stand in this place. May God Rest Their Souls.

Loved the history of this wee dog, and the towns tribute to her. She gets pats and love from a million cruise ship passengers each cruise ship season and all the other visitors to town ❤️
