Finca Los Castanos is a farm that grows coffee, located in the Valley of Agaete, only one place of Europe where coffee is grown traditionally (XIX). On our farm you can meet growing coffee, and all the processes before to drinking from a cup. Come and meet us.
We took a day off the beach and visited secluded Agaete valley to check the coffee plantation in Agaete. It was a lovely experience. Short walk through some coffee tree area, seeing different local fruit and other plants, meeting chicken which live on the property. Walking up you can see oranges, mango, avocado, figues... all in natural habitat. If it is raining or after rain which is not very frequent you can ask for plastic poncho :-) The tour ends in the sheltered seating area, where owners of the facility will explain every detail of small family coffee production company and also entertain you with description of details of steps of coffee production, while you sip on the cup of their yummy rare coffee and bite on delicious home made pastries. You will get to try manual coffee bean roasting as well. Of course there is some small shopping of local products possible, the roasted almonds are addictive. :-) cards are accepted :-) Both owners are very friendly and nice :-) parking on the premises free of charge. Highly recommend :-)

The GC 200 is some road! We have been fortunate enough to drive the road to Hana in Maui and the Great Ocean Road in Australia and in our view the GC 200 is most certainly in the same league! We drove from Agaete to Puerto Mogan, which is known as Little Venice, the views and scenery are simply stunning. The 68 km journey, circa 43 miles, with lots of photo stops, took two hours including a stop at El Balcon where there was a snack kiosk. Be warned this is not a road for the faint-hearted; it is dangerous, steep, twisting (it is said to have 365 turns) with severe drops and you are likely to encounter large trucks and cyclists on the very well maintained road.

My husband and I decided to visit Platinium coffee plantation and were very pleased with the overall experience. Friendly hosts who were very hospitable providing us with knowledge, lots of good coffee and delicious biscuits and other delights. Well worth a visit.
