Excellent time hiking with my wife and two grown boys and future daughter in-law. Easy hike, beautiful trail with several great views along the way. Great views at top also. Went earlier in the morning, were the only ones on top for at least 30 minutes. Trail was very busy on way down. Many people hiking up.

Did the peak climb with our family, including our teenage children who have done ADK peaks before. This is a tough climb ... lots and lots of rocks and several steep sections. Make sure you wear good hiking shoes and bring lots of water. We arrived later in the morning so also had to park away from the LOJ which added about 1 hour total to the hike. The views at the peak are amazing and worthwhile, but just be ready for a long hike up and going down will be just a challenging and no quicker given all the rocks.

With an elevation of 3,759 feet, this mountain rises directly from the shores of Blue Mountain Lake.
This was a good but strenuous hike. The view from the fire tower is worth the hike for sure. The dog loved it too! Do note the weather. As recommended we went after a dry day but had an unexpected downpour for the last hour down. Even before the rain it was muddy and slick in places. Although it's just 2mi each way it was not fast for us. Go early.

Amazing views at the top! Great hike all in all. Took us 2:15 hrs Total with 2 breaks (one at the top). Our 9YO and 6YO kids climbed up the short path (helped the 6YO a little). A few mosquitos but not too bad. Make sure to save time for Heart Lake at the end of the trail, bring bathing suites if weather permits!

The hike was def not easy if you take the trail to the right when you get to the fork in the trails. Wear hiking boots or good runners as pine needles can be slippery. Beautiful views when you get to the summit..its worth the climb. Round trip took us 2 hours but we made stops along the way to take photos and at the top enjoyed the views...i would not advise for parents with small children to take this route, too steep at times.
