Atmospheric backstreets paint a very different picture to first impressions of Abu Dhabi. The often slick and modern capital of the U.A.E. presents a fascinating mixture of tradition and progression. Tracing its rich history back to around 3000 B.C., Abu Dhabi maintains a more distinctly Arabian ambiance than glitzy Dubai. Taxis are a safe, reliable way to get around sites such as The Corniche Park, the White Fort, the Heritage Village, which offers glimpses into Bedouin life, and the Women's Craft Centre.

Always go to Yas mall cinema, great new movies, great screens and sound systems and overall a great place to catch a nice movie as with so many screen there is always a wide choice. The goodies that come with the movie experience are good with a large menu selection of what you can buy. Always go back.

Al Raha cinema has everything I need for living locally. It is good value for money, much cheaper than Yas Mall cinema. There are plenty of food outlets in the mall and some will even deliver to the concierge who will deliver to your seat. It is a bit quirky in that the ticket office is on the ground floor and the screens are on all 3 levels of the mall. Just recently I have been to the 1st floor screen which has become my favourite. I try to go to either a 1800 or 2000 screening on Thursday evening as these have, so far, been really quiet. I have found that the cinema culture is different here in Abu Dhabi. Watch out for large groups of unaccompanied kids, they wander everywhere and leave an absolute mess behind! So far I have not experienced this at Al Raha. Seats are well comfortable with a bit of tilt and lateral adjustment.
