The City Walls of Baku are in great condition considering that for most parts , they are alongside boutiques and restaurants without any special protection . We used the audio-guides available at the Tourist information office to get a good description of their origin and purposes .

Perfect place for an evening walk some nice cafes around for refreshments. If you're travelling in winter, some warm gears are recommended to counter windy sea breeze.

Upland Park, is located close to the Flame towers. It gives a great vantage point to view much of the 'City of Lights' (Baku). Whilst great during the day, it really transforms the view at night when th city is illuminated.

This mosque is in a beautiful location overlooking the Caspian Sea (and docks) just south of Baku on the main road. Please remember that shorts (for both male and female) are not acceptable attire and that women must have a scarf to cover their heads, although the mosque will provide one. Inside the mosque, the green-ness of the ceiling dominates and delights. There is a central area including the tomb of a descendant of Mohammed. The mosque was originally built in the 13th century but was destroyed by the Bolsheviks and was reconstructed in the 1990s. Alexander Dumas had visited the mosque.
