Located just steps from the Barter Theatre, Mallory Fine Art is the home of some of Southwest Virginia/East Tennessee’s most prolific fine artists, including world renowned fantasy artist and illustrator Charles Vess of "Stardust" fame. I attended a Thursday night performance by two bands and enjoyed them both. This center is part of the Crooked Trail of Appalachian music.

William King Museum of Art

The William King Museum of Art is a non-profit regional art museum and arts education center housed in a historic 1913 former school. It is the only facility of its kind and Virginia's only nationally accredited museum west of Roanoke. An average of 9 exhibitions are mounted each year, showcasing art of the region and of the world.

This is a great resource for local residents who need information on our past. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and were of great assistance to us in creating our Damascus History Tour. It's worth going here just to look through the old photos. Fascinating.
